Yes you can register this car in less that a year (it depends what MONTH it was originally registered-if it was done in Jan say..the registration DOES NOT REQUIRE AN SVA!!!! as its 10 years old and thats only 9 months-minus the shipping times and you dont wait that long

If it was registered in sept, you would have to wait until sept08 to register-in that case its not much more over a year. For those who dont know the import laws...

Any vehicle newer than 10 years old requires an sva type approval along with all mandatory paperwork (completed application form V55/5-for used vehicles, a £38.00 registration fee, the required fee for the Road Fund Licence (Tax), a current British certificate of insurance, De-registration form, the appropriate HM Revenue and Customs form to declare the tax on the vehicle has been paid

All they do now for vehicles older than 10 years old is go by the MOT - so you no longer have to get them SVA'd. They grab all the info from the MOT.

The law has been like this for a while now, i'm surprised that this isn't common knowledge-so no need for a vehicle report either-so we should expect ALOT of rev5 mr2's in the uk as of next year.

Also a very hush hush fact..its actually FULLY LEGAL to DRIVE your car to the MOT station as long as its insured. They dont like making that well known though. :thumleft:

There's a handful of rev4 T-bar turbo's IICR whereas rev5's T-bat turbo's are extremely sparse.
Leeroys is one of the best examples I've seen to date

Maybe you are trying going to sell your revision 4 for another beast, but there's no point trying to make people pay over the odds for it.

Then

Seems to me like your trying to make a fair sum of money on this car... You have offered it to me for £7,300 via PM :| . I appreciate the seller was after a quick sale all the same, but...

Even if the car was worth it, I would'nt support making an obvious amount of profit on a car recently purchased.

Maybe you have spent a considerable amount of money on the car since then, which would perhaps justify the price hike. :thumleft:.

Sorry if I sound a little arrogant, it's not intended, I just like dealing with fair people.

Maybe it was a bargain and i'm a little jealous that I missed out :P

The car isn't even here...

At the moment it's at the port of Tokyo, Japan.
The shipping will be in 2 weeks. The car will be here in about 2 months.

I will post better photos for those who are interested in the car.

I thought the government was scraping the 10 year rule in favour of any car registered after 01/01/97 requires an esva even if it's over 10 years old.

Hmm,
The guys 3S had a highly tuned '99 turbo for sale for about 6 months.
As they were unable to sell as it cannot be registered for some time to come, they now have parted it out I believe...
