Hmmm you got the worst kind of clips , they are really bad not only for keeping things tight but as you said over tighten and they break. I'd get hold of these type
JeffD wrote:Well done Matt for doing it yourself. Only tthing I'm wondering though is the high pitch whisytle you mention - I think that will be a boost leak on one of your pipes - wopuld be worth checjking security of all the hose clips/connections. If in the near future you car appears to have the turbo "switched off" it will be a pipe popping off!
Shouldnt be whistling...
LOL well if i`ve got a boost leak it`s doing some good then, thanks Jeff i`ll have a check tomorrow if it`s not raining but the sound doesn`t get louder on full chat but disappears so i`m thinking it just might be a bit of turbulance
Is it "proportional" to the turbo spooling ie. can you play the turbo on and off and the whistle comes on and off in time with it?
I had a very similar problem with mine when I first fitted it and it was the pipe working its way off then just popped off eventually leaving me with what felt like a turboless car.
Well jeff i`ve got a bit of boost leak just on one small bit due to me rushing and wanting to get on the road (didn`t tighten it up fully ) I`ve still got the same noise so defo just got to be change of equipment
Got mine fitted today, didnt take too long, I removed the air con pump while I was on too as the rest of it Ive already removed, took about 5 hours with plenty of tab/dinner and tea breaks.
Im only running around 11psi (no boost controller but have a RSR exhaust and decat) but it defo feels like its pulling stronger to the redline.
mine arrived today the jubilee clips are Crap to put it mildly fitted in about 5 hours taking it steadily but the pipes just keep popping off at 12psi.
If i tighten them any more they will start to cut into the pipe and strip the thread on the clip.
gonna email him and ask what he will do about this because at the end of the day they are not fit for purpose.
Right well i`ve re-fitted my IC pipes wrapping silicon sealing tape around the hard pipes i`m going to say it`s a must i struggled to pull the silicon hoses off without the clamps!!!!
I`ve fitted the stock ic fan and i`m pretty happy with it sucks nicely throught the new ic,
Also i`ve fitted and ic water spray
