It's been a while since I've been here but the car is still up for sale.

Price is now at £4495, way less than it should be, but I need to get it moving.

Offers considered, esp p/x with learner legal 125.

im sorry i dont see a low mileage clean mr2 rev 3 turbo going for 3000. scrappy ones with body work issues, bits missing ,rattles, scrapes air/con not working etc if thats what you want fine.mines pretty much standard but if i couldnt find a buyer to realise its value at 5000 id rather bury it.

Right on bud :thumleft: i think id rather donut mine to death than bury it though lol

Looks a nice car but im agreeing with the majority. My mate just purchased a mint r34 gtt for 7k. Newer, more power and more luxuries than the MR2.

That market is totally flat now.

Ok, tax runs out at the end of the month, so need to sell quickly.

Any sensible offers please.

I'm affraid to say your really not going to get £4495. The market is dead at the moment!

Plus personally if i was going to pay that price for it i think i would want to drive it away taxed!

Good luck with the sale :thumleft:

Have to agree you can pick up tidy Rev 3 Turbos for around £2500,i personally wouldn't pay £4495 as you can pick up mint Rev 4s for that kind of money. If i was you take all the bits of the car and sell it as stock, you then can make up the rest of the money with the bits you sell.

It says offers, not 4495.

I need £3000 minimum. Otherwise it is getting a SORN and a new cover and put away until I can afford to run it again.

Very sad day yesterday as Andytoyota drove away my car. Sold for £3100. He got a bargain, it's such a shame that people are being forced to sell these cars at giveaway prices. Not helped by the idiots on this forum who are determined to push values down.

All the best to Andy, hope to see the car on here soon.

That's the last post from me until I win the lottery and buy a genuine TRD.

All the best

Yes, and the dimwits that voted them in. If you look at the rest of this thread and plenty of others you will find people talking down prices.

I just hope they don't move into my street.

Having just read this thread, thought i'd just have my 5p's worth....

Car did look sweet, but have to say that everyone who was saying it wasn't worth 5k are just basing that on the current market. Yes, prices have dropped and it's a shame, but no-ones going to spend 5k on a car that everyone else is selling for 3.

Anyway, glad you've managed to sell up.

Secondly, any MOT you get on a car invalidates ANY old mot relating to the vehicle. This applies whether the car passes or fails its mot. This means that if it passes, you get 12 months from that date. If it fails, it also invalidates any existing passed MOT that is currently issued.

No. It does not. You are being shortchanged by your MOT station. I have done this for many many years, and if you were right then the modern computer system would not allow it, and yet I have still done it.

Sorry, i stand corrected.

The correct rules are that you can retest your car within 1 month of it's expiry and assuming it passes, the expiry will be 12 months from the original mot.

If you retest earlier than 1 month from the expiry, then it will be 12 months from the retest date.

I think that in either case, if the car fails, then you cannot legally drive the car any more irrespective of existing mots as it has been tested as unsafe for use on public highways. Not sure if you sorted and then retested again within the expiry date of the old one whether you still get the new expiry from 12 months of the old mot???

I posted in the general section about this a few months back about a lot of members not showing respect for fellow IMOCers selling cars and it seemed to improve for a while.

Too many people post disposable comments knocking people's cars and price points when they have no actual interest in the sale. It is often the same people who do it in every single thread.

Obviously if there is a glaring error or an attempt to deceive in the advert that might harm a fellow member then it should be pointed out.

Otherwise if people have nothing constructive to bring to an IMOC for sale thread then they should keep quiet instead of effectively sabotaging it.

Glad you finally got her sold mate, even if it wasn't close to the price you wanted.

Incorrect. If the car still has a valid MOT certificate, it can still be driven as normal until expiry. Whether it would be sensible to drive it or not is a different matter.

I thought that would not be the case as the MOT is purely a certificate of roadworthyness. If it fails then the car is not roadworthy.
