That doesn't sound too bad! You'll have to get it on the weighbridge when it's ready Toni. After you've got it off the dyno though of course! (:

Basically the SC will operate to a given rpm then will be disengaged at the point the turbo has spooled up, so they won't run together so as to speak but obviously there is always overlap as the turbo builds up pressure. IIRC there is a valve that operates in the induction piping that gets around the problem of both blowers working against each other.

cheers lauren,so its a solenoid or diaphragm operated valve in the IC piping that stops them fighting against each other? i see,but still a little confused, the valve is shut at low rpm allowing the sc to supply boost without it feeding back onto the turbo yes? but this would also mean that the turbo is also spooling up and its pressure is hitting the back of the valve too? surely that means the turbo is fighting itself? or is there also some sort of BOV that has the turbo boost venting until the SC disengages? sorry for all the questions just never seen a TC work,i just knew about the overlap and conflicting boost problem and curious....in a non bi sense!

It is a very complicated set-up there's no doubt about it...I've got tons of pipes and valves - the builder is going to have a lot of fun sorting it out...!

I also have a little magic box of tricks called a 'supercharger controller', this should in theory help disengaged the clutch on the SC when the turbo kicks in with excess pressure being redirected via the BOVs. It will be a bu88er to get right I should think!

Ben, got a chap in Ware who maps Motecs for a living to do it, that was a 'mare on its own finding someone (even once I'd got the kit) who would actually do it.

Oh and thanks for the comment on the colour guys, what can I say but something else is planned there to!

Engine builder is taking them for me.

Fairly old but you can see most of the parts here:
