Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Thanks !
Just as it came out of the lock up. Before it went in I polished with some really good stuff and it lived under a cover.
Going to wash it after I've done the pump.

I'd like to replace the front splitter with something more durable, any suggestions ? Damage was caused by a little wooden post hiding in long grass.
I have an Aeroware polyurethane front splitter fitted to mine:
I personally would avoid fibreglass front lips as they easily crack being low and at the front of the car.
I'd probably source a stock polyurethane rev2+ front lip for yours. It will fit in much better with the rest of the car being standard.
If you do, get a rev 2+ oem lip, as this is deeper than the stock rev 1 item.
Today I sorted the heater pipe, cut out the split section and fitted a piece of Samco hose 19mm id 45° bend.
Fuel pump works fine and the tank is almost re-fitted.
Now I'm in two minds as to repair the front splitter or fit a rev 2 one...
Once it had fuel it started right up ! One main issue is a coolant leak with the coolant running down the back of the engine, behind the turbo and onto the exhaust.
Any ideas where it might be coming from ?

Excellent thank you. If I had to guess I would say the leak is somewhere around the water by pass pipe area.
Coolant was a tad hot to have it dripping on my face while I searched, hopefully it still does drips when its cold.
Iv'e the alternator to tackle too but I am armed with Peter G's guide to help me with that !
So far it has all been 'orrid jobs !
Alternator
fuel pump
hfh
heater pipe
What other nasties can I expect ?
Heater matrix ? Bet that is horrid too !
Are there any easy jobs ?

Another thread reminded me about the foam in the sill.
Pop off the interior side panels just behind the seats and reach down and remove the foam if it is still there.
Plenty of threads discussing it.

Depends on whether half of your inner sill comes out attached to the foam
