Needing to
"clear out" an engine to make it run well is not an inbuilt design feature by the manufacturer.


Whilst you are technically correct, I have owned many a car that when left idle for months have started up a bit lumpy and after a quick run has returned to normal operation.


Fuel goes off over time, oil falls under gravity and coagulated to throw rotating components off balance, water moisture gets in places it shouldn't be and needs evaporating off etc etc.





Started my car up yesterday after 5 months of sitting dormant.
