You are aware of the depth in the game though

(not just this version, but all going back to the original SF2)? The combo system? The timing of everything? There's more longevity in SF2 than, say, Mass Effect.

Both brilliant at what they do, both very different, but people still pick up SF2 and play it today: No-one will be doing that 20 years time with Mass Effect.

Assassins Creed also takes over and finished the kill for you

(way more so than the SF series do).

Is that also rubbish because of that? Forza2, GT, GRID, all very repetitive driving games, but they still get played because they're fun.

The graphics on SF4 are very different to what we've become accustomed to

(*looks at Tekken, VF, SC et al) in a beat

'em up, yet they're stunningly beautiful and so very well animated.

Mortal Kombat does get very boring, that's why no-one kept buying the sequels, so you're not alone there.
