Oh dear. I'm going to Vegas next year and don't like long haul flights. My mate said it'll be ok as they have games. Hope i don't get stuck with street fighter! Can't make my mine up what's worse, the game or the film.

The game or the film?

Granted, the game doesn't have Kylie in, but FTLOG, it's the movie, hands down, every time. SF2 is an absolute classic in everyway :+:

You might be lucky I guess, and only get to play Zuma (or suchlike) all the way there instead

I don't even know what they are. Perhaps i should get a psp for the flight. Or actually buy a book and read it.

God you're right, that looks so ugly. Look at all that horrible detail in the background, and the shadows and definition on Ryu. Rubbish.

I didnt say it looked ugly. I said it doesnt look as good as it could have done. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure that's not a game play clip.

I guess they have gone intentially for the "toon" look which isnt really up my street.

You actually said it looks out of date.

I think that is gameplay footage actually.

Out of date and bad arent the same lol.

From the clips I watched on XBL that looks more like one of the cut scenes that the game play clips.

Put it this way, it looks a darn sight better than anything else on google images under street fighter 4...

You're changing the goalposts all of the time here Matt and it does sound like you're saying it looks bad, thats blatently obvious.

It just looks to melike it's one of those "everyone likes it so I'm not going to like it to be different and cool" things and you've already made up your mind.

As I said, I think when it's released you'll change your tune. :thumleft:

Just to clear up. The game looks crap because it's a very dated concept. The graphics are ok but not special. This is because i think it looks too much like a silly cartoon and i can tell you whole heartedly, i won't be buying it or changing my opinions. 40 quid for a repetitive 1 on 1 2D beat em up is just daft. If i wanted that i'd simply download the full game of the original Street Fighter 2 on xbox live. I've already downloade the full mortal kombat game on PSN. Got bored after an hour. From the video's of street fighter 4 it looks like it's full of but scenes mixed into the game play. For example you do a combo and the computer takes over, finishes the move and the angles and visuals take over. Have any of you thought perhaps you're just being loyal to a brand you liked as a kid. I can't help but think you'll all rush out, pay your money, play it to death and within a couple of weeks be bored stiff with it? The online options will have to be very investing to keep it going.

You are aware of the depth in the game though (not just this version, but all going back to the original SF2)? The combo system? The timing of everything? There's more longevity in SF2 than, say, Mass Effect. Both brilliant at what they do, both very different, but people still pick up SF2 and play it today: No-one will be doing that 20 years time with Mass Effect.

Assassins Creed also takes over and finished the kill for you (way more so than the SF series do). Is that also rubbish because of that? Forza2, GT, GRID, all very repetitive driving games, but they still get played because they're fun. The graphics on SF4 are very different to what we've become accustomed to (*looks at Tekken, VF, SC et al) in a beat 'em up, yet they're stunningly beautiful and so very well animated.

Mortal Kombat does get very boring, that's why no-one kept buying the sequels, so you're not alone there. ;)

We can go backwards and forwards forever on this one. I'm not saying you'll rush hout and buy it Matt, but I think it'll be one of those games that you just want after you've had a go at a mates house, but the proof is in the pudding as they say, so we'll see come release.

The only way i'd buy it would be a cheapy on ebay. It can have all the combo's in the world for all i care, it's still repetitive 1 on 1 fighting. Btw, i got bored with Forza very quick. Didn't even buy Grid. Of all my games the only racing games i own are forza 2, pgr 3 and need for speed carbon (enjoyed that as it had different races and a story at least)
