I should have said if I'd known you were going to change the actual soldered LED's that they are 3mm not 5, the resistors need to alter the current for 12v, type depends on the colour, there are lists online for working it out. Karl I would check you have the right ones before you refit. I found the heater easy enough. The window switches were let's say fiddly as were the fog switches. Glad the wide-angle ones worked well for the backlight.

You do get your jobs done fella, always amazed...

Thanks for the kind words mate, its appreciated

Im not soldering them into the board, or changing those 3mm leds over. I was swapping the original 2 backlights, which should have been an easy switch over with no problems. Unfortunately it all went a bit wrong, lol. The resisters I used came with the wide angle leds so I presumed that theu would be fine. Ive made a new set with double resisters now in the hope that will solve the issue when I get my new unit delivered.

I did take apart my light switchs and saw sense. Lol. I will attempt to buy a set of pre-converted switches so that I dont have the hassle! Lol.

Lots more plans of things to do, which as usual are being held up by the postman ... And the fact that Im in work until 1800! Lol.

Here is a link to the ones that I bought mate, (in white) but I can't see any in their other items for red ones:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170406574147? ... 1439.l2649

These are Stoney Racing ones (which are cheaper but practically the same) I've managed to find for you in red and are here:

Hope that helps bud :thumleft:
Well worth the money, makes a lot of difference!!

Oh, and its £10 per panel not for a pair ... just to pre-warn you :D

Well the car has had a few days without anything being done to it - so I guess its time for an update :thumleft:

My morning started with a delivery from my local postman;

Image

Image

I was more than relieved that my heater unit had been delivered :thumleft:

I then switched out the old lights, and switched in my new LED wideangle versions:

Image

I plugged it all in and started to test out the LEDs:

Image

Image

Luckily this time the extra resisters must have done the trick as the unit worked flawlessly. So I re-fitted the interior fully and set about taking a few photos of the full conversion (it will obviously look better at night):

Image

Image

My postie also delivered my wide arm LED numerplate lights:D

Image

Before:

Image

After:

Image

Image

I will endeavour to take a photo of them at night so you can see the full effect of LEDs

Unfortunately the screws and number plate light covers had seen better days and were massively discoloured:

Image

These have now been put in the dishwasher to clean them up a bit before they will be re-fitted

I then need to plan more ways of spending the banks money on my car! lol...

Dishwasher has finished a full cycle and this is what I'm left with - I think you'll agree that its a vast improvement on the badly marked, stained and tired number plate light covers;

Image

Image

I'll refit these today and then troll eBay looking for more stuff to buy :D

Clean, modern, like it :thumleft:

Which LEDs are they for the license plates? I've been looking at getting some myself, with them being no.5 on the "to get" list". Although no.6 is a big one (ECU). Actually no.3 is too...

Thanks - its getting there bit by bit. Unfortunately I keep thinking of things that I can do to it! lol.

Dare I ask what number 3 is on the list?

Here is the link for the LED number plate bulbs bud:

It works wonders doesn't it - I've always done.

Did make a bit of a faux pas by putting headlight units in the dishwasher once and it stripped all of the reflective interiors from them - but live and learn! lol.

Still intrigued to see your Civic finished :D

You are an absolute legend. Thank you so much bud.

Perfect, thanks :thumleft:

No.3 is seats. I was going to get the stock seats retrimmed, however I'm being lured in by the Sparco, Recaro, Cobra offerings. As well as seats from things like Evo's, S2000 etc. It's just deciding what's best then buying the ££££ to get a pair. Then ££££ to have the brackets custom built/modified :-#

I did go inside with a view of relaxing before going to work tonight ... but then I got bored. So back out to the garage I went! :D

The photos probably don't show it too well but my rear light are very cloudy and have needed some attention for a while now.

They are quite milky and don't quite look right:

Image

Image

I used autsol and rubbed the lights back. I then used a fine polish scratch removed, and buffed the lights up, before coating them in a protective oil which also brings them up to a lovely shine. It took around 35-45 minutes per light, but was well worth the effort.

Here is the first light mid clean:

Image

Here is the driver's side done and passenger side needing work (doesn't rellay show up properly in the photos)

Image

Image

Working on the passenger side one:

Image

A big improvement with both of them finished:

Image

Image

Image

I may do them again in a couple of days to try and bring them up even better. I may even crack out my machine polisher

That is it for today - honest  lol
