Well done, come on here, make a vague accusation and then not even point me in the right direction.

.idiots in cars that are slower than yours trying to stop you overtaking them.

Unless the other car seriously out-classes yours in straight-line grunt this is a very dangerous thing to do.

They have planned their manoeuvre given the info available to them.

.their speed, your speed, their acceleration, the distance they have available to overtake.

By speeding up you can be seriously and dangerously removing their safety margin for the overtake.

This is very painful to admit, but I have to agree with Aidy on that one.

Am off to lay down now from the shock!

It's the responsibility of both

Yeah good one mate.

Perhaps you would like to explain the situation

To you all

I wasn't there but you explained the situation adequately in your post.

Yeah good one mate..
.or the guy was a complete willy.
Anyway what do you know mate, you weren't even there.
Perhaps you would like to explain the situation(in terms of the road, exactly what he could see, what i could see, speed limits, traffic ahead etc) a bit better given that you clearly know what happened.
To you all-

I think the point is, that when you go to overtake you make an assessment of the situation, based on space available, time available, your speed and the speed of the car in front.

I have seen it with people before who have overtaken, the car being overtaken has sped up, they then both brake at the same time, then accelerate at the same time, trying to avoid an accident with the oncoming car and its chaos.

The only time anyone should ever speed up when a person is overtakign is on a change fo speed limit.

If he had overtaken me in the 40 zone and I had sped up to stop him overtaking, besides being stupid for speeding in the 40 zone, the guy may not have anticipated me doing so as I had driven the last 1/4 mile at the speed limit.

Oh of course everyone on the road makes such rational judgements.

Look guys and girls, chip bearers and GAidy this was a while back now, move on.
.
.go critise something else.
.
.there's a whole world out there
just waiting to ignore your pointless views.

It would have been safer for you to swerve out into the other lane thus blocking him than to do what you did, and THAT is insane.

- I tried that originally but there was something coming in the opposite lane and didn't want to cause any harm to myself.

.
.oh didn't i mention that

Aidy
- I am ignorant to the sentiment of your comments but i see my response as bait and watching you lot bite is pure comedy.

If you going to make statements, please at least be prepared to assist.

We are trying to run IMOC for everyone, but if people just moan and then don't tell us why then it makes it very hard for us to change stuff.

Amelio, the quicker you sell the mr2 and buy a bmw or boxster the better,

As I said, look at the recent posts in this forum, if you want me to narrow it down further, two such posts would be"Are all Evo drivers big heads" and
"MR2 Turbo vs Integra Type R"

My reference was to the thread not to the site.

I will review those threads for what you have said, but do not recall Moderators being anti-MR2 on it.

Not that there is anythign wrong with being anti-MR2 provided the posts are not designed to enrage people.

The only reason I pushed the point is that the site is run for ALL members and if people want things changed

You also made a reference to the Moderators biting the hand that feeds them, was interested to know why you posted that up and the reasons for doing so, that was all.
