They aren't hard to find, just look through the more recent posts in this forum.

Well done, come on here, make a vague accusation and then not even point me in the right direction. If you going to make statements, please at least be prepared to assist. We are trying to run IMOC for everyone, but if people just moan and then don't tell us why then it makes it very hard for us to change stuff.

One of my bug bears....idiots in cars that are slower than yours trying to stop you overtaking them. Unless the other car seriously out-classes yours in straight-line grunt this is a very dangerous thing to do. They have planned their manoeuvre given the info available to them....their speed, your speed, their acceleration, the distance they have available to overtake. By speeding up you can be seriously and dangerously removing their safety margin for the overtake.

This is very painful to admit, but I have to agree with Aidy on that one. Uber-dangerous!

It's the responsibility of both (http://www.highwaycode.gov.uk/15.htm#144 - 144) which is something that people seem to have forgotten in this country. Whenever overtaking I know I certainly only attempt it if I don't need the other person to do anything, and sadly in this day and age for extra safety I also factor in if the car speeds up. Too many egos on the road so you have to cover all angles.

DAFL! (totally agree). There is nothing more dangerous than an idiot with an ego.

@ Lauren - and nothing more annoying than an idiot with a chip on their shoulder.

Yeah good one mate...or the guy was a complete willy. Anyway what do you know mate, you weren't even there.

Perhaps you would like to explain the situation (in terms of the road, exactly what he could see, what i could see, speed limits, traffic ahead etc) a bit better given that you clearly know what happened.

To you all -

I wasn't there but you explained the situation adequately in your post. You were slower, he was faster. He tried to overtake, you tried to stop him. He was going about his business, you were being a knob.

I think the point is, that when you go to overtake you make an assessment of the situation, based on space available, time available, your speed and the speed of the car in front. If the car in front changes that when you are beside them, your margin for error can be severely reduced, which can create a hazard and place you at risk.

I have seen it with people before who have overtaken, the car being overtaken has sped up, they then both brake at the same time, then accelerate at the same time, trying to avoid an accident with the oncoming car and its chaos.

The only time anyone should ever speed up when a person is overtakign is on a change fo speed limit. Had this myself 40 into a 60 zone. Was being tailgated through the 40 zone because I did the speed limit, as we hit the 60 zone he pulled out to overtake, I legitimately accelerated to 60 and left him on the wrong side of the road behind me. He should have anticipated that I would do that as there was a change in the speed limit.

If he had overtaken me in the 40 zone and I had sped up to stop him overtaking, besides being stupid for speeding in the 40 zone, the guy may not have anticipated me doing so as I had driven the last 1/4 mile at the speed limit.

But we just want to carry on criticising you. ;) The offence you committed was a heinous one and worthy of hanging, no doubt.

It would have been safer for you to swerve out into the other lane thus blocking him than to do what you did, and THAT is insane.

Luthor1 - I tried that originally but there was something coming in the opposite lane and didn't want to cause any harm to myself....oh didn't i mention that :?:

Aidy - I am ignorant to the sentiment of your comments but i see my response as bait and watching you lot bite is pure comedy.

For your information I "came on here" over 2 years ago, its not like I just turned up now is it.

As I said, look at the recent posts in this forum, if you want me to narrow it down further, two such posts would be "Are all Evo drivers big heads" and "MR2 Turbo vs Integra Type R"

Amelio, the quicker you sell the mr2 and buy a bmw or boxster the better, (the bonus being you can always compare forehead genitalia).

What powrful words....man, you know how to terrify someone off from owning a car.

Most of the comments made have been in gest so don't come on here with your macho comments. Dear-o-dear, another IMOC cyber brown-nose. I think you've just about wins the IMOC 2007 award for most pointless and unfunny comment.

My reference was to the thread not to the site.

I will review those threads for what you have said, but do not recall Moderators being anti-MR2 on it.

Not that there is anythign wrong with being anti-MR2 provided the posts are not designed to enrage people. There are faults with these vehicles, there are other vehicles out there that are better in certain ways.

The only reason I pushed the point is that the site is run for ALL members and if people want things changed / if people annoyed with certain attitudes / want new stuff then they got to be prepared to speak up.

You also made a reference to the Moderators biting the hand that feeds them, was interested to know why you posted that up and the reasons for doing so, that was all.
