That's what I like, a bit of competition! LOL

We might do this every year, so get your name on the honour role as the first 'fastest IMOC member of the year 2005'.

Roll up, roll up!

errr....my car seems to have been put in the wrong class I best get this changed as I dont have a large crank pulley or alternatively I could just make my car conform to the class its been put in...no resist resist.......click.... :o darn it dont you just hate it when you accidentally order go faster bits.

Wether I can get it installed and the various other bits and bobs done on the car in time remains to be seen...hopefully see you all there.....might be bringing another MK2 Turbo with me as well....

I think he was saying it was standard Tom...but by putting him in the wrong class he's had to go buy a new pulley now :D

Perhaps he's just bl00dy good at driving the quarter mile, LOL.

over the years (had the car for 8/9 years now) all sorts of stuff has been done to it/experimented with....I have just reverted it back to its everyday use status so it has rather less done to it than it has done at other points in its life...currently points of interest that may account for my relatively fast times for an SC on stock boost:

Performance Air filter (in a somewhat novel position)

'Performance exhaust' (very homemade, currently far too loud for track work but they dont seem to mind on the strip it was more an experiment into how much weight could be lost by changing it and will be changed in the near future)

and er well thats it engine wise at the moment....

Although I have been untill recently experimenting with a smaller SC pulley for more boost rather than the usual bigger crank pulley (not the levin one actually a custom 95mm sc pulley still retaining the sc clutch), water injection, boot mounted intercoolers and some other bits but due to various issues none of this lot has been run successfully on the strip so my times to date have all been at stock boost with nothing more than and air filter and an exhaust......however......

My SC is a relatively rare tin top i.e no sunroof no t-tops so stock it weighs a fair bit less than the t-top sc's also it has gone on a fairly serious diet so weighs even less...although now due to it being used everyday I've had to make a couple of consessions so its now got door cards in it...but not much else

or alternatively as Toni so kindly offered I could just be good at driving the quarter mile :)

hopefully if all goes according to plan on the 25th I should be 'experimenting' with a BIG crank pulley, a boot mounted intercooler, and water injection....but that largly depends on my finding some free time to play cars between now and then.

hopefully see ya there

Toni - the plan is to do this every year - hence the title:
MK1 club 1st ANNUAL drag-strip day! lol

Its the MK1 club way of getting a fun event where the MK2's can come as well
Its great that IMOC have put up the trophy alongside our ones! just what was needed - I just didn't know who to ask - hence thanks to Tom who said he'd sort it 4 me with you peeps! :)

bring on the fun \:D/
