1st ANNUAL DRAG-STRIP DAY (SANTA POD)

SUNDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER

The famous Santa Pod Drag Strip, near Wellingborough, Northants, holds regular ‘run-what-you-brung’ days – open to any cars. The MR2 MK1 Club is holding a club drag strip event here on Sunday 25th September.
We will have a club area (with parking and gazebo) right next to the drag strip, pit area and grandstand - so you won’t miss any of the action. A ‘cook-what-you-brung’ BBQ will be available (weather permitting) or there is on site catering.
Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you take your car on the strip or to watch the action. If you are not a MK1 Club member, but want to join in, meet club members and their cars, please come along too (Other MR2's also welcome).

Pay on the day:
£10 p.p entry to Santa Pod, plus
£15 for unlimited drag strip runs* *remember to bring your driving licence

AND IMOC MEMBERS:

Ian Blackett (Photography) will be there to picture your perfect run, and he will also take stills of cars on the stand not running, and some at the end of the strip too. It is possible for those travelling a long distance to camp at Pod on Saturday night – where there are all the usual facilities. Cost of camping is £15 for a weekend ticket – pay on the gate. This means you can watch the Bike event on the Saturday if you wish, or gates are open till late Saturday evening.

There will also be a convoy to the Pod on the Sunday morning from the M1 – details nearer the time on the forum.

i really wanna run mine up the pod after i get it back but i am doing the jap performance show in the very limited static section. doh doh doh
make it the weekend before
hope its a good day if the jap shows falls throught you can garantee i will be there
i wanna see what mine runs before we finish the engine off in the winter so i can see the difference

I thought that the jap show was far enough away distance not to pose a problem with clashing dates. unfortunately there are no dates that don't clash with another MK1 event, or that don't fall on a santa pod big event. the next date was late october which could be too dodgy for the weather.

the only thing for you to do is come to pod!!!!!

i can't as i have got a very limited space on teh static indoor there is a high chance i could get a mag feature from it so i don't want to turn it down

Everyone else's seems to have a giant Supercharger pulley fitted, the size of a dinner plate, mine's only little!

I think I am going to take my car back to Toyota and complain...
