[Mk2] [Turbo] Squeeky Cornering Driving Me Nuts.

Hi guys
Got a loud squeek coming from the rear passenger side of the car when cornering right mostly at roundabouts as the weight transfers from centre/drivers side to passenger side, could this be worn suspension bushes or engine mounts? Any other ideas? Coilovers,Topmounts and drop links all pretty new, Sounds just like mice!

try greasing the antiroll bar mounting bushes

Hmm they're brand new, don't know if they were greased when they went in, I'll give them a dollop of grease and see if that helps

If they're new they should have been properly greased up with that horrid sticky lithium grease the bushes come with. Also, not sure off the top of my head how much access you'll get to the rear ones without dropping the subframe a bit. Bit of a PITA I'm afraid.

Yup you'll need to drop the rear subframe to get to the ARB/ARB bushes.

Ha ha, I can drop the rear subframe off no worries, its getting it back on I struggle with.

Dude, if it is the bushes and they were recently done, take the car back and get them to do it properly

The bushes are greased with white grease. I jacked the car up and had a peek last night

I`ve got the same problem , squeaky noise from passenger side on hard cornering , funny though it goes away when I don`t have a passenger .

Could it be wheel bearing? With the window down I can hear a graunching noise from the rear of the car applying power in RH bends now??

Jack the wheels up and check for play by pushing on the front wall and pulling on the back wall to and fro...

I had same sort of problem took it to MR T and could'nt find anything.So i checked the brakes and it turned out to be piston on the caliper seized

Oh... well if that is the case i really hope its on the rears because the front calipers are mucho dollar

Leon, checked for play, there's so much of it I'm not sure where its all coming from, seem to have decent amounts of up and down and some side to side, but no in and out which is one bit of good news.

Decided to replace all the stock suspension parts and bushes etc as and when funds allow, started collecting bits, god bless Camskill

Well to check for calipers seizing, put your hand on each wheel after a run and one should feel warmer than the other - presumably the one that's making the noise.

All that should be needed is to regrease the pin etc, not replace...

As for the play, it really depends how it feels and exactly where it is, I can imagine the side to side 'play' would be slight wear in the rack etc but if its more of a knocking then that's not good... Not sure what up and down movement you've done, could be top mounts worn - put your fingers on the topmount nut, and lever the wheel up and down with a plank of wood or something... do you get any knocking when driving?

Assume you've checked your wheel nuts are tight?
