rising rate furl pressure reg (fse valve) any good for a tub

Post by Fizzy »

Ive used these on NA race cars for years, with brilliant results. Is there anything to be gained by fitting to a tub with unichip - if only to up the base line fuel pressure??

You talking about this british FSE power boost valves ????

If you are they're crap... maily in the reliability of the unit.

If your going for one, you need a rising rate type of 1:1 ... often the aeromotive ones are the beasties for flowing and controlling the fuel pressure reliably or the cheaper sard type ones.

Important to have that ratio of rising rate, will only help getting the fuel in more !

with the stock ecu most tunes will be using a aftermarket FPR to lower fuel pressure due to overfueling.

With aftermarket ecu uping the FPR can squeeze the last bit of bhp from 540cc or 440cc.

They can solve a fuelling problem.

I used one to great effect on my SC. It was a conversion so had the NA fuel pump, but the stock SC regulator ran a lower fuel pressure than the NA regulator.

So under acceleration it was running lean.

Once setup on the rolling road Bhp went up 15, so for a cheapish fix it was simple and effective. They do need to be set up on a rolling road though.

Good point Lauren,

also check the rolling roads is using a wideband, you'd be suprised how many of these places plan to tune your car with little more than a MOT emmisions testing rig!
