Pink to Red paintwork :)

Today i want and saw a Club Member called Andrew in Frome in Somerset to do some paint restoration and was presented with a Pink should of been red Mk2. 6 Hours, 1 Meguiars G220 DA, 3 Pads, 4 Polishes, 1 10 year sealer and

great but I'd get a respray as that happiness will only last a few weeks and then back to pink.. I did this a few times till I gave up and had a respray done..good stuff thought!

Just to add a big thanks to Ben, the car shown is mine and he's done a fantastic job, very pleased! As he mentioned the photo's dont really do it justice but believe me from what it was to how it is now is a major improvement and nowhere near the cost of what a respray would have been. That isnt to say at some point when ive got the money I wont go for a respray as there's still scratches and chips that obviously wont come out unless filled in.
With the products he's used and the sealent put on there's no reason it should turn pink again for a while with the proper care.
Highly recommend this to anyone

Im in work now looking at the photos and they look completely different and alot beter than they did on my laptop at home.

all about how you set it up as the monitor i have on here was set up by the IT guys and colour tempereatures set right too.

An aircraft sealant that i use on small private jets and light aircraft. Slight overkill for a car in cost and application but there is always enough product left over to do about 3-6 cars after depending on size. The company garuntee it for 10 years. You can buy it from ebay and the like for £30 for 2x100ml bottles

the only reason why red cars turn pink again very quickly after polishing them is because they havent been fixed properly only the paint has been 'filled' with fillers from the polishes.

When you do it properly with cutting polish and a machine like Tinys done to andys it will stay red again for as long as he looks after it.

Exactly! When your next in halfords take a look at the new T-cut range they are all for specific colours because they have put coloured fillers in them to help hide marks that you think you have polished out.

IMO, there's going to Halfords and buying consumer products to detail your car with...... and there's doing your research and buying professional products and tools and doing a proper job.

I like the jetseal too, I know its went out of favour lately on detailing world etc but I still like its ease of use and good price.

Tiny those colour t cut stuff been out for ages? Its the type of stuff that dealers use on their cars so when you go and look at them they look mint, until it rains or you wash it and all the fillers wash off leaving you with a chipped and swirl marked car I used to use the blue one to hide stone chips on the front of my last car as I got sick og having the front painted every 6 months when I was going to shows all the time

that will last about a month.the reaon it fades is because it has been painted with solid colour (no clear coat) so nothing to protect the paint.the only way to do it properly is to use water base paints and laquer,will never fade.

well while its no water based paint or lacquer its an acryllic sealant that effectively adds a clearcoat thats UV resistant so im happy that it wont fade for a long time.
