They seem to have very nice cars available all the time, but their prices are right at the top of the market.

NewEra generally have an excellent reputation. But yes, generally they are a bit more pricey.

have to say, im a little suprised by this lack of information from such a respected company...

The MR2 turbo was made from 1989 onwards for the Japanese market only, whilst the rest of the world had to make do with normally aspirated versions only!

the US got turbos

The Revision 5 GT Turbo model was introduced at the very end of 1998.

afaik, they were out very late 97....as mine was made march 98, which is clearly not "the end of 98"

Note also, being a 1998 model, this car qualifies for the lower priced road tax scheme.

my tax was no cheaper than usual....

still, looks cool.

Oooh pickey, LOL.

Actually they are right regarding the tax in that it is a pre-2001 car. But I had heard that ANY car imported after 2001 with a model report showing higher levels of CO2 will be in the higher bands will be liable to the post-2001 tax...despite year of manufacture. Not sure what the reported output of an MR2 Turbo is?

Newera are great, Migel is a very helpful chap.

Although I don’t trust the company who do all their uk conversions and registering (or did about 6 years ago so could have changes). I had big problems with a Supra with a dead turbo.

Back then Newera only had an admin office in the uk, all the work done on the cars is through second agent. Could have changed now though.

Try their web site, there will be loads of info and pics of the car.

I had noticed the shade of the bumper was different, i thought it might have stone chip protection on it.

It is right at the top of my budget but how often do rev 5 GT turbo tin tops come up for sale?

The sonic shadow model end up with front bumpers a different colour over time because the paint cures differently on plastic than it does on metal. Wonder if the same happens on this colour?

Get one off an owner from a club in the uk. Better value and trust me if they love the car you get tell how good it is. been looking at newera for 7 years every week. My dream was to buy from them. Top site one of the best but who can aford the exchange rates? Just got mine last month from an IMOC/MR2OC member.

Don't think 'time' makes much difference.
I had a brand new Celica in Lucerne Silver and the front bumper looked a slightly different shade at some angles.
The 10 year old bumper on my MR2 looks no worse or better than the Celica did.

Ah, ok. I figured it was sun bleaching or something affecting the paint differently depending on what it was sprayed on, but maybe it was always the case!
