power steering (help)

Post by robbo »

i have own my tubby for four years and use it every day when i bought the car off my brother in law the power steering light was on but the steering was fine and there were no leaks etc,
but today i noticed the steering was very heavy as though the power steering is not working Ive checked all the fuses connectors and fluid and all is fine,
please can anyone tell me what else it might be.
thanks
Robb.

could be a stuck relay... quite common on the mr2... try flicking the ignition key 20 times, usually free's it up

do you get a whine when you move key to ign... most of the times is the relay and you may need a new one..failing this it might be the pump.
