A couple of pics of my 2. (updated)

Post by Mike 'MR2' McHugh »

My 7th year of owning her...

This week she gets a new engine, Its been a daily driver ever since i bought the car and never spent longer than a day off the road. I have done 201000km on the current engine. This week she gets a fresh reconditioned engine, new clutch and water pump. I never intend to sell the car as ive become very attached to it over the years. Mechanically theres nothing wrong with the engine however due to over heating because the waterpump packed up im putting a recon in any way. Cant wait till the end of next week when i should pick her up. :thumleft:

Mods wise,

HKS Induction Kit
Mongoose Exhaust
Mongoose Decat
17" Ace Alloys
Smoked front clusters
Rhons Leather gear gaiter

More to come, i plan to fit a body kit.

*EDIT*

Just got home with my recon'd engine, uprated clutch, water pump and Cam belt changed. New gear box oil and all new fluids. Running very sweet !!!

Didnt know it was going to be blue but i kinda like it ........

Looking good there. They do just keep going don't they. Wish you another 7 yrs happy ownership. Oh and don't put a kit on it, they look so much better without and it's just extra weight to haul around and unnecessary expense.

Cheers mate, it was years ago when i met you wasnt it ? You came to the Coventry meet i put on ....that must be almost 6 years ago so you must have had yours for about the same time !

The old engine is being taken out at MRTWOS, not sure what will happen to it, i hadnt made any plans for it, why ?

Front lip will make the front lower then sideskirts are needed to level it out, then the rear............Can't just do one thing. Do one thing, do it all.

Now we're talking :thumleft:

A rev 3 lip would fit, then you just colour code the lip, sills and rear spats :thumleft:

Rev 2 is the same as rev 3 just not colour coded. Rev 1 is the lip that isn't as deep and is in 2 pieces :thumleft:

Just paint yours mate with rattle cans colour match from Halfords. Better off spraying yours as I reckon it will be hard to remove with rusted bolts etc. With the right time/prep and flatting etc you can get a decent finish with spray cans :thumleft:

I did that with my centre panel mate....turned out nice. I think this would be hard to do whilst on the car.....it would need priming etc to stop flaking and id only end taking it off to do again.....do you remember Danny W's...he did his with a chip paint stick

I was looking at it earlier and would llok so much better coded !!!
