Wheel Alignment

Post by si2040 »

Hi Guys,

Had my MR2 go in for a wheel alignment computerized and when I got back home I've found they have done it based on a MK3 MR2...would the adjustment settings be the same?

Also does anyone have a print out of their alignment settings or what they should be...I can't find any on the net.

the ° symbol is degrees
the ' symbol is minutes (a 60 unit subdivision of degrees)

so you can compare your camber & castor direct to the toy' documents JohnnyC posted. i don't know how to convert the toy' toe measurements to degrees though so you could use the ones i posted (i'm pretty sure theyre correct  !) or the rev3 ones, which will reduce oversteer somewhat

front castor is a bit high (left out of spec)
front right camber a bit low
everything else looks ok ish

i'm certainly no expert so i dont know how important it is if somethings not close to ideal or just out of allowable spec

heres my last printout to compare- they got it very close to what i asked except for the castor (apparently mine isnt adjustable):

cross camber is the difference in camber between the R & L wheels on an axle

your figures: (-0°48' FL) - (-0°13' FR) = 0°35' front cross camber
(-1°27' RL) - (-1°06' RR) = 0°21' rear cross camber

- the smaller the number the better, although some people would set a touch more neg camber on the left side of the car to help it drive straight when driving on the left side of crowned roads (as we do here in UK) but it will tend to pull right on other surfaces (middle, right side of road, tracks etc)
