forlife colours

Post by stevemilton »

Quick question, how different colours of forlife are there and what are the differences between them?
Cheers,
Steve.

I have heard rumours of this green coolant, but ain't never seen it.

Never even been offered it by Toyota when I asked for loads of coolant.

Is that a definate? A garage was doing some work on the car and was supposed to have changed the coolent at the same time, but when I checked it it is an orange colour.
When I asked the garage they said they had used Forlife, but I'm beginning to doubt that they actually changed the coolent at all.
Problem is, I've already paid. I can see possible aggro on the horizon

Why are folks so stuck on the "for life" coolant?
The BGB never states to use it, and I prefer to replace my coolant every year anyhow.

I do know thats its a bad idea to mix the For Life type with regular
anti freeze

Not sure about orange.
My baby got it's first coolant change in it's life at 5.5years old, and this is what came out...

Toyota now have a newer version of their coolant which is pink - it supposedly lasts for the entire lifetime of an engine (or 100,000 miles, or something). Toyota garages don't like using it because it means they can't con you into regular coolant changes ;) I seem to remember forlife is called longlife now anyway.

when Rogue put on my radiator recently they used a blue/green coolant antifreeze, so i wouldnt worry about the colour so much.
(unless they charged you for the expensive toyota stuff, that is...)
