[Mk2] [Turbo] Which sensor do i need?

Post by cherdyboy »

The car has been feeling lumpy until fully warmed up for a few months now, and will really hesitate when getting anywhere near boost for the first 20 mins of driving, and seems to be taking longer to warm up....

So im goin to order a water temp sonsor from camskill to see if it helps, but which one do i need? Its a rev2 tubby, year of manufacture 1992, so do i need the pre nov 92 one, or post Nov 92????

How long does it take for the temp gauge to get to normal temp?

Could just be the thermostat.

do the front radiator pipes get warm? If not then I'd suspect thermostat as rob suggests

Thermostat is only a month old, and it did this with the old one aswell....

Will check the front pipes 2morro tho.

Ah that's alright then, I'd expect Rogue to use a genuine Toyota item. There have been reports of blueprint thermostats sticking and/or opening at the wrong temperatures before which can lead to all sorts of problems.

dan i think that Camskill have marked it up wrong on their website, they must mean nov 93 (which is when the rev3's started).
I'd give them a call....
....for the continuity of the thread my hesitation issues were solved by tweaking the idle control screw on the AFM to make it run a little bit richer than previously (which im now asuming was set too lean, as it had been played with at some point by a previous owner...)

i never found out the answer about the water temp sensor, so i never bought one, which is lucky as that wasnt the cause of my problems....
