My car broke down tonight and had to be towed home.

Over the last couple of days I'd noticed when pulling away there was a slight jerkiness and a knocking noise from the rear.

Anyway, tonight I was pulling away fairly briskly when I heard a loud crunch and suddenly lost all power to the wheels.

The engine was still revving away and I could still get the gears but there was no

'drive'.

The clutch felt okay.

Called out the breakdown service and the bloke reckons it's either a differential gone in the gearbox or the driver's side driveshaft.

He said there was slight movement in the rear wheel when moving it.

I have a feeling it could be the driveshaft and I kinda hope it is as it's cheaper to fix.

I could do without this right now as I have so many things to pay for this month.

Typical.
