Finally introducing my mk1

Post by Ben »

It's taken me a while, but I finally got some decent pics of my mk1, so thought I'd show it off! Its a bit of a bargain basement car... cost me 600 quid with almost a year's tax and ticket. Its got a few bits and pieces that need sorting out, mostly a bit of rust on the a-pillars and the rover wheels ( ) but its done me proud so far! I've just fitted a magnex exhaust, that cost me 35 quid from ebay, which has made a surprising difference to the feel of the car. Its an on-going project I think, and once I have sorted out the tired discs and rusty patches I'll look to getting some smart new shoes and a few other bits and pieces! Any suggestions welcome...

Yup that's the one! These Kent-based owners keep emerging from the woodwork, there was me thinking I was the only one in the area. Thinking about it, I actually drove through Teynhmam last night a couple of time while I was working. Small world and all

Oh, and forgot to say thanks to AdDaMan for a great set of wheels :thumleft:

Pete (Black Beast Pistol) has them while he's refurbishing his 1a alloys.

Don't tell me you wanted the rover wheels as well?

i am sure we can come to some arrangement, same as me cos i got them so i can refurb my mk1 a alloys
i have them sat here at the mo
will porb go on my car next couple of weeks for a couple of weeks then you can have them
if you are in no rush but will not take me long to sort mine out

maybee they should become club alloys????
the spare club alloys save people money :thumleft:

I like that idea! I think there should be a rule though, everyone who uses them has to paint them a different colour before they're passed on

Time for an update, and a few pics while it's sunny.

It has now been lowered on some Jamex springs, also has new discs and pads and some refurbished engine mounts. I've also got an Elise rear box to go on, so more updates will follow :D
