well... i bought it and i am totally dissapointed!
Graphics are under par (not a touch on GOW2) what about the background when you are at the top of the building when the giant lizard goes for you! looks like a 640x480 bitmap! thought it looked nasty.
I also dont like the level design.
The zombie type enemies are a task (like the flood in Halo 1), the guns are 'OK' the storyline isnt very good - no where near as good as Resistance 1. I HATE time limits in games too.
All in all, not impressed! Feels like playing an old xbox 1 game.

I'm not impressed either. Got it sunday, and I'm now apparently 1 level from the end. What kind of game lasts like 6 hours game play!

Graphics, good in places. Average in others. GOW2 owns this in that dept. Gameplay is ok. Feels a bit better then FOM. There is SO much potential that they missed. Sometimes you are walking around thinking why not have this hear or do that there! And it's not good if your playing a game whilst thinking like that. Story line is ok, I've not finished it yet but it's not gonna get great anytime soon. A longer game with more story would have been excellent.

This leaves me feeling like I'm playing FOM with more colours and better weapons.

New I should have got COD as thats what everyones playing online, and I'm told the campaign lasts longer. I have such a sour taste in my mouth I'm not even gonna play this online!

I swear they put so much emphasis on online play that they forget about making the game that entertaining. I think thats the problem with games these days COD 4 anyone? That game was SO short. Obviously it rocks online but hell, I'd like to have some decent offline campaign time! Games manufactures are concentrating too much on online and single player/offline campaign mode is suffering as a result

do you play the games on the hardest settings? if not then theres your problem.... cod 4 was brilliant on veteran. cod 5 is DIER on veteran because its not made by infinity ward.
restiance 1 was great on hardest setting but not played 2 yet.
theres no point playing the game on easy as you just walk straight through it going "well that was short and boring i never felt challenged"

on another note i finished little big planet last night lol now that was fun!

I'm playing on normal. However, It's not like it's just plain sailing. I've died quite a few times. The length is still the same though. Theres only a few levels where (for example) CODW@W has 12 or something like that. If I play it on hard, it just means I'll die more. The game doesn't magically add more levels. In fact I'm sure the 1st one was longer then this and that seemed a tad too short lol.

A game like this should be longer and have more story too it IMO.

If it was longer it does't take away from the fact it's not quite up to par on the visuals wise. Some things look great, a lot looks average.

Well I finished it. Final boss was just stupid. Killing it is no biggie. The end boss in the first one was WAY harder to defeat. You don't even have to shoot this one. But in killing it something pretty cool happens 8) End scene was a bit short, like a minute lol. But looks like there will be a 3rd.

Graphics don't get better unfortunately. It plays better then the first, but it still feels like it's the first one with more colour.

Considering taking this back tomorrow and trading it in for something else. Have not even touched online, as TBH I cant be ar$ed lol. Will get COD W@W most likely and go online with that as that's what most of my mates are playing now. Prob pick up a dual shock controller too. It's about time I did that lol.

How easy was the final boss in gears2? No idea, not got to it. Don't have a 360. Only play it round my cousins house co-op so not got that far into it yet.

if you think gears is easy on insane you must be talking out your ar$e!!

yea the final boss is easy but on insane you cant stick your head out of cover for longer than a second without being killed.

try horde on insane, level 50 and youll see what i mean.

forgetting how hard it is for a second, gow 2 does everything better than the first.

not all sequels suck.

You never had a problem with the graphics but like you said they weren't spectacular. Towards then end of the game I spent time going round the levels and some bits were so last gen. I expect more from a latest gen +hd game. It's not a crap game, but it should have been better.

CODW@W is much better graphics wise IMO.
