First cosmos blue to enter the MR2 championship

Post by mark73 »

After buying this S reg beauty a year ago now, its sat outside awaiting its fate until today when the build started #-o   .Hopefully it will be making its debut at the first round of the MR2 championship at snetterton on the weekend of the 14/15th march carrying patricks old number 1 on the door :thumleft:

Mark now hides behind door waiting to get hung drawn and quartered for destroying one of the few stunning cosmos blue rev 5 s but jokeing asside it will look fantastic when finnished and hopefully help me retain the championship this next season :thumleft:

Will post some pics up soon

The same to you and mel matey

Im the same,i cannot wait to get started again,i took the orange car to mallory pk the other day on an MLR trackday and put a few evo owners noses out of joint. They really didnt see the funny side of getting driven round the outside of in gerrards. Its a shame there wasnt a few IMOC members there to see some serious bhp evos getting tranced by a little na MR2 championship car

Hahaha classic!!!
I bet that was a real hoot, I'd of love to have seen that.
What are you doing with the orange car, and how do you think the Cosmos Blue car will be quicker than the two predecessors?
Just curious, I guess it'll be lower mileage and may have a marginally stronger/tighter engine and gearbox perhaps?

Prepping a race car as you know only too well is a flippin' expensive game.
I've often wondered why people have a race car and then prep another after one/two seasons having proved the original competitive.

Best wishes

Rowland

The old blue origional 73 has now been broken so the cage and all other parts are going into the cosmos blue car so this has massively cut the cost down. Also andy from AW Tracksport (Horncastle) is building the cosmos blue car as part of a sponsorship deal for this next season so i couldnt really refuse
As for it being any better than previous cars we will have to wait and see but andy is a perfectionist so im really looking forward to seeing the finnished product. The cosmos has done 118000 miles so its well run in mate
We also have plans for the orange car as well but you will have to wait and see on that one :-#

Be interested to see the work they do to this. Have seen alot of other work that AW Tracksport and G&G Motorsport have done before and its top notch.

Andy does take a lot of pride in his work and as said above he is a perfectionist so hopefully this one will be up there with some of his other top class builds from the past

Thanks Mark - if I'm close enough to see any of that, or some more of your "please don't come past me" gesticulations, I'll be happy enough!

Very much looking forward to continuing the learning curve with the Mk2 - I think the clutch gremlins have finally been killed off!

See you at Snett! 8)
Cheers JOHN
