The only reason I am selling this car is I brought it as a project to chop the roof off and convert it into a spyder
- yet I am not going to get around to doing this so rather than let it just sit in my garage I have decided to sell it.For all those who don`t know why I won`t be doing this it is because I was seriously ill with Pneumonia at the beginning of November 2008 and was off my feet for nearly 6 weeks.
I am still not fully better hence me selling the car rather than have it sit in my garage and not get used or looked at.
It has been garaged since I purchased it and the battery on trickle charge and the hand brake is left off too.
It started 1st time from cold
(on 1st Jan 2009) - the last time the engine was started was Mid November - also there is NO "Mayo" under the oil cap so all good with the Head Gasket.
What work needs to be done to it?It is the paintwork that lets it down
- somewhere in its ownership someone has decided to try and colour code bits of the body work mainly the front and rear splitters.The lower side spoilers on the rear bumper are starting to bubble as is the boot spoiler and side spoilers.
Overall it could do with a good wash and polish up there are no rust spots which for an 18 year old car is very very good.
The bodywork is very solid, it has the original Full Size spare wheel and full toolkit in the frunk and has an Auto Watch Remote Alarm and Imobiliser.
Also the front wings have some paint missing and there is a small indentation on the passenger side front wing.
Engine wise and mechanically the car is solid
- the clutch does feel very light BUT it changes throughout the gears without any problems and as the car has been standing for a while (approx 6 weeks) the brakes will need to bed themselves in again but they do work and the handbrake has been left off so it works fine too.Since I purchased it I have done the following work to it:
* Changed the front number plate holder as the old one was "home painted in white emulsion" check out the 1st picture* Repaired the drivers side headlight as it had come off the arm that goes up and down - it now sits flush with the bonnet.* Replaced the drivers side top cup of the suspension housing as the original one was rusted through.* Fitted Genuine 14" Alloys as the 15" on it were kerbed, corroded and had bald rear tyres oh and again painted in white emulsion!* Fitted new (but used) door cards as the old ones had the speaker covers cut out!* Fitted new (but used) drivers side engine inspection panel as the old one was scratched.And that's it.
It is priced at a realistic price as discussed on this forum
