Wheels finally on!

Post by Munnsy »

Well i havnt had this one too long but it has come a really long way from when i bought it.
Used to own rev2 tubby before i unfortunately had an argument with a barrier and wrote the car off,
RIP
Image

Having a passion for the sw20 i saved up for yet another t-bar black (best colour) tubby and drove a long 4 hrs there to pick it up and 4hrs back.
I got home and she looked like this

Image

Image

completely stock back then, bodywork little tatty especially fron bumper and wing but i wasnt concerned as i had a few things in mind for the future.
It was mechanically sound pulled very well and i felt like i was back home

Since then i have spent a small fortune on the car, starting with cambelt and full service,
then turned to cooling and opted for st205cc conversion done by james at 3s

Image

clutch didnt seem to last long once i had turned up the boost to a bar, and so the car was treated to

berk downpipe
infamous nur spec
New clutch and flywheel kit and was soon back in business

Had it dynoed and made a nice 302 at the fly, but running very lean.
So bought an apexi power fc which is still due to go on aswell as walbro fuel pump.Still drive the car no problems but cant boost :-k but in the long run have saved ££££££ on fuel lol

I then invested in a rev5 spoiler and side vents modified had the spoiler sprayed and both put on the car, but still needed wheels

Image

so finally after owning the wheels for nearly a yr i think i got some rubber fitted, ordered some spacers for the fron (10mm) and rear (5mm) And fitted \:D/

Oh i am so in love with this car

And so this is how it stands now, i have many little bits inside, including dials, apexi avcr (switched off), digital boost gauge in original cluster, gearknob etc.
Next on is the fuel pump and power fc then off to ryan to hopefully get the 320atf but we will see.
I love the look of the car now, border kit is due at some point but financially tight at the minute.
Hope you all like,
comments very welcome and apologies if i have bored you to death lol

h & r spacers from america, paid a little more from over there as i got hit with the charges ](*,) so all in for 10mm on the front and 5 mm on the rear i payed 200 all in  ,
i tend to get a little rub when i hit and large dip every now and then but the wheels finish pretty much flush with the arches all round.
Just need centre caps now but dont know where to get them from?
just need to get the new fuel pump fitted and mapped then i can drive the thing properly lol :thumleft:

Looks great mate, much better with the multi-spokes but then I love multi-spokes on a 2. Personally I'd have staggered the diameter too with a 16 front but hey, looks good. :thumleft:
What are they? What sizes and what rubber etc?

ive always wanted to stagger tyres front and back funny enough but never got round to it,
i have had these wheels a fair few months now though, sizes up front arer 215 40 17 and rears i went 255 40 17,
was going to stretch the 265 but had fears of rubbing etc

As for exterior changes, ive always loved the black 2s with full border kit, look stunning so thats my goal eventually. Im surprised how nice it looks considering it really standard amazing what a shiny set of round things can do for a car.

Next yr want to go forgie route if the money is ok  but will see.

Glad you 2 like it :thumleft:

Bl00dy Hell 255 at the back  You did well for them not to rub being that size never mind 265's! Does look the Dogs though!

Well with my Car i have the Border front,TOMs sides and Phoenix Rear spats for a bit of a mixture but thinking i want a TOMs rear in the future.

I think the Border kit looks good but only if you have the right wheels for the right stance and i think yours will suit it :thumleft:

yeah i like your mixture, did you not have your wheels up for sale not so long ago???
Shame cos i think it looks great :thumleft:
Im hoping full border will look ok, as i said have always ever since i see the first kit imported wanted a full border kitted, black tubby.
Have been umin and aring about replikit but really not sure???

As for the tyres, i was told being the size of the staggered wheels at the back alot of people on here were running 265  but they do look uber wide from behind

still managed to step it out though through town saturday without too much trouble  so icy!!!

So what sort of power are you running at the momment?? :thumleft:

Its just standard mate, been spending all my money on the exterior first cos i have had a few crashes in the past so im not too bothered about makin it faster as i think its fast enough really.

Yeah i dont like driving mine when its icy but its now my only car so i have no choice :pale:

Replikit now have a guarantee i think and someone on here bought something form here (whatever it was escapes me) and said it fit very well so think they would be your best place for the kit :thumleft:

I have just got some fatter tyres for the back and have filled the arches and pushed them out so it looks alot better now, will need to get some updated pics on :thumleft:

I have 215/40/17 on the front and 235/40/17 on the back and i dont feel inadequate at all even if you have 255's on the back

Oh and to answer your question about selling the alloys,i was just finding out how much they would be worth as i was thinking about getting 18" ones but changed my mind due to alot of people thinking they look good! :thumleft:

Cool will look forward to seeing it kitted :thumleft:

Give me your spoiler

Its slowly getting to where i want it to be, however im getting sick of not being able to drive it properly due to the fueling problem,
I have since booked it in for fuel pump and map so fingers crossed
Then next is tdo6, 800cc injectors and a hopefully reliable 350
Will see how it all pans out but im patient lol
