When I got my turbo 3.5 years ago, I used to struggle with 1st and 2nd was occasionally a bit notchy. I put MT90 in and I rarely EVER get any issues with engaging the gears now, its got better and better, I was thinking this the other day actually. My old gearbox oil was green (a$$ before me obviously never changed it), and I changed it 18 months ago, I try to do it every 2 years as recommended...

So yeh I'd recommend it, not 100% sure if any other 75w90 oil would have achieved the same but I wouldn't change to bother finding out. Each to their own...

For engine oil, for an N/A, a 10w-40 or 5w-40 semi- or fully-syn should do for an older engine, just depends on your preference for oil type.

Demon Tweeks or xxxx usually, it ain't cheap though.

Here's a few links for you, cos I'm good

http://xxxx/catalog/p ... ucts_id=84

Rogue are the cheapest if you can collect from them, although their site still has 17.5% VAT tut tut

I normally buy it at one of the shows direct from Redline, saves postage...

You'll need ~ 4.2 litres for the tubby, 4.4 quarts (it comes in 1 quart bottles).

The N/A is 2.6 litres!

You get what you pay for at the end of the day...

oil man in affiliates (opie oils) is the best person for this oil (or was when I bought mine - cheapest, in stock, and free delivery) and good stuff for your box :thumleft:

Save yourself a few quid:

It's the business and a lot cheaper than MT90. I got put onto it by a former member who was running 500+bhp.

MT90's a good choice if you've got synchro problems rather than getting a replacement box. The important thing with any gearbox oil is to change it at the required interval (every 27k/C service) as when they break down, they can start to attack the phosphor-bronze synchro rings.

Fair call John, but power doesn't equal knowledge :oldtongue:

True...but it does require a good gearbox. Mark Edwards knows a thing or two about these things I'd reckon?
