I just had a go on it. Terrifyingly, I can sing Rihanna's "Umbrella" despite having a voice more suited to Nick Cave or Tom Waits material

Seriously, I love Singstar on PS3; Lips has more critical pitch tracking, but is also a hell of a lot less flattering through the TV for your own singing. The wireless microphones are pretty decent. No idea on the selection of online songs, the supplied ones are a good balance, maybe two or three for any given taste.
If I didn't have Singstar then the wireless microphones might have convinced me to get Lips instead, despite the stupid name.
