1996 Mk2 Rev 3 For Sale

Post by alexm »

Firstly, apologies that my first post on here is a for sale one. I've wandered over from the MR2OC....

I have for sale my 1996 Rev 3 MR2 in goodwood green. It’s a UK GT model with 89k miles and full service history. I searched high and low last April for the best possible example and I have to say it has completely exceeded my expectations.

The previous owner had spent the best part of £1300 on a full service, new genuine Toyota clutch, rear discs/pads, handbrake cables and even had the garage check the cambelt had been changed as the history of receipts stated @ approx 58k miles!

The history file is stocked with receipts/service records and all the previous owners addresses. It seems the car had travelled from Norwich to Hampshire via Kent.

Since in my hands the car was treated to a set of KYB shocks, new front ARB mounts, genuine front Toyota droplinks, poly tie bar bushes and an alternator just 500 miles ago (as well as a gearbox oil change while it was up on the ramps). It has done 22k miles of hassle free motoring and thanks to the suspension work handles superbly – as it should.

TAX has just been renewed for 6 months (so end of June 09) and MOT is also June 09. It has gone through 2 MOT’s cleanly since I’ve owned it. The car came with a stainless steel cat-back system which looks great and only increases the exhaust note a fraction, it’s not that intrusive at all. Appears to have been custom made as I haven’t seen another like it, nor have 3S in Winchfield. There’s also a set of sparco ally pedals which I was going to remove as they’re not really my thing, but I actually now quite like them! Oh and a nice black TRD ally gearknob – otherwise it’s standard.

Paint is in good condition, I’ve polished once every 3-4 months. There are a few stonechips as you’d imagine for a car of this age. All electrics are spot on. Interior is clean and scuff/tear free.

This is a sad sale, but having just moved house my commute is now 50 miles a day and a boring diesel awaits me. I tried to convince the wife to let me keep it as a third car but we just can't afford to do it. The car has always returned 33-36 mpg on a good mixed run.

It’s for sale at £2’395 ono. I’m going to be boring and state that if you want a test drive please arrange insurance for the day or I can take you out.

Please fire away with any questions or let me know if I’ve missed anything. I’m looking for a good home for the car. Car is in Church Crookham in Hampshire - GU52.

Ok ladies and gents. I'm dropping my asking price to £1995 which seems a snip but I must get my hands on a diesel asap!
