Farcry 2

Post by Bender Unit »

Is anyone else playing this? I have played it for 30 mins and in a near psycotic fit of rage I almost took the disc out of the drive and snap it in two!

Its stupid, you try and sneak up on an enemy, you can be miles away but they still spot you, even though you cant see them, they then attack you, but you still cant see them even when you are activley running around looking for them as they all blend into the background (unlike my charater who obviously is wearing a flouresant jacket). Then when you do find one you unload a clip into their heads and it dosnt do any damage, however 1 or 2 shots from them and you are boderline dead.

Crap game, should have known better than to buy it after FarCry instincts. It seems Ubisoft have managed to polish a turd!

Ubisoft have become the new EA! Ea are now turning out halfway good games, Ubisoft are just pumping out utter xxxx.

Its a great game! Slow to start off with yeah, but give it a few hours and it really gets going!

Fantastic graphics and sounds. Running through the jungle looks amazing! 8)

Once you get a decent amount of diamonds you can buy a stealth suit, then you can creep up on enemies! :thumleft:

Or just find a mountain/rock top and snipe/nuke/RPG from a far! :thumleft: 8)

Oh I agree it does look good shame it plays like xxxx.

Even if I was invisible they would still spot me hiding in a bush from the other side of the island and then get a perfect headshot with a hand gun. The first Far Cry was a similar affair – didn’t matter how well you hid they would spot you. Massive flaw IMHO.

Or just find a mountain/rock top and snipe/nuke/RPG from a far!

So far I have some crap machine gun that has so much recoil you would think it’s a 12 gauge!

Going to give it another attempt and if I cant get it its being traded for something that is good like Fable or Left 4 Dead.

Maybe its just your copy mate!....I'm not having the same problems you are!

There are some great weapons and damn good attention to detail when you blow stuff up!

I really like it. Stick with it mate, its not for everyone but it is a damn good game! :thumleft:

I use the silent makarov at mid distance . 1 headshot and it's all over.

Sometimes I'll get down to the last one or two guys and just wound them and switch to machete for the finish.

I'm relly enjoying it.

To follow up on this, I started to get a bit more into the game - started to feel pretty repetitive only 8% in. Anyway its repeatedly frozen on me leaving me to reboot the 360, every time - and doing a search it seems this is a common problem and has left alot of people very un-happy and alot of people have lost their saves as well.

So I cant be bothered with it, I shouldnt have to be some companies Beta tester - I am returning it to play for a full refund. I will now refuse to buy any more Ubisoft products - as they just turn out buggy dross these days.
