How to get the 360 demo of Resident Evil early........

Well it was released in the land of the rising sun yesterday and some clever guys figured out how we can all get to play it.

Even those without Live.


I havent fully done the process myself yet but a mate has and says it works fine.

Start by downloading the 5 100mb files from here......

Then select them all and use Winrar to extract them to a folder you have created.

Burn the file called "content" to disc and then stick it in your 360.

Not sure what happens next. Ill update within the hour for the last few steps when ive done them.


edit - to get it going just put the disc in and go to games library on the my xbox tab.

if u have a hdd transfer kit just plug ur hdd into ur pc and drop it into the 3rd partition in the content folder and ur sorted.
dont really like it atm tbh but ill try it again tonight

the controls are bugging me a bit.

apparently you can change it so the left stick is jus walk and doesnt strafe.

gonna give that a go cos i think it mite be a bit smoother.

graphically its awesome. Let the guy with the big axe have a swing nearby. Awesome effect.

No, it really is. This demo is supposed to be exclusive content, wrongly or rightly they're using it as leverage for Gold/Live membership - it's their property and they don't want it given away because they're losing reasons for Live membership. I'd wager the demo usage T&Cs don't allow re-distribution without permission.

piracy in simple terms is getting something you should normally pay for for free.

Ding! You can only get the demo if you have Gold membership. They want you to pay for Live membership - so all of your criteria are met for piracy. Whether or not you personally have Gold membership is not the point, the links are available to all and sundry and violate the distribution T&Cs.

Of course the links are plastered everywhere, people want the demo! Doesn't make it legal.
The demo is targeted at Live Gold members, so it's clearly not something they want available to all.
Hopefully MS/Capcom will just admit defeat and open the demo to all anyway. Either that or they'll get shirty and threaten legal action at all sites hosting the files.

Its actually only available in asia. so this is no different to someone making an asian live account and downloading that way.
