**Help**fitting Baileys Piston Dump Valve

Another plea for help.....

I bought the following from an IMOC user.

However it doesn't come with instructions....as newbie it doesn't make it any easier!

Here is a pic of my engine.....



I got instructions on how to fit a similar device from another IMOC user but I was not able to follow them.

Anyone know of any guides? It's quite obvious where it supposed to go....the issue I am having is with the sourcing the vacuum feeds. Basically I need a beginners guide with pictures

im not sure on the vacum pipe. cant it connect to the one thats on the standard bov? (the pipe that goes into the top)?

Hmm perhaps it can....but still as a newbie I'd be unsure what I was doing

you can use the vacuum pipe that controls the stock re-circ valve.

although when i fitted mine like this, the stock one started to leak boost, so i put the vacuum pipe back onto the stock re-circ valve & took a t-piece off it & attatched it to the bailey one.

it will work fine with no issues like this.

So I should complete remove this valve from the stock recirc?

Can I get confirmation where stock re-circ should be found.

I got an MR2 Manual on CD....think I'll look it over. But I feel that I may just have to send it to the garage to get this done as it's quite tricky without instruction

It's easy to find the same pipe looking at my engine.

My only question is that hose looks a bit thicker...does it need any more additional clamping when I cut and attach the T-Piece?

IS your T-Piece black? As I can't even see it!

Your best option is to throw it in the bin and get another brand. Baileys are notorious for leaking boost. My tubby had one on when I bought it. It was leaking. You could here it leaking at full throttle. Changed it and I was back to hitting full boost

Right.....anyone else with this problem?

What does it sound like when it's leaking?

There was a post a little while back and a lot of people said the same. Do a search for Baileys.

It kinda makes a psshshhhh noise sorta.

er, i never had a problem!!
ha, apart from like i said, it leaked boost when i didn't have it connected with the t-piece as the stock re-circ was leaking.

the bailey i could get to leak boost if i feathered the throttle & held it at just off load, but never when i didn't want it to. accelerating & holding speed was fine.

yes, the t-piece i had on was black iirc, so that's prob why you can't see it.
the pipeing is the same internal diameter as stock pipeing, jus larger outside diameter as the silicone stuff usually is.

Hi All

Just to let you know I fitted the BOV as per Steve's Instructions(so I didn't completely cut of the standard BOV) and the DumpValve appears to be working a treat

No apparent loss in boost and a nice sound
