[Mk2] [Turbo] Help indentifying rusty Part

Post by Olls »

i replaced my front discs and pads last weekend, while the car was jacked up i had a look around and noticed some rather rusty looking parts, braces ? anyway i need help identifying them and also on where to get some more ? also in one of the pictures you should be able to see that the plastic guard that sits underneath the car is completley knackerd, the front one behind the lip is too, where would i get these and are they a pain to fit ?

Replaced my braces recently, here were mine:

Toyota only part, and part numbers are 53654-17010 (left) & 53653-17020 (right).

Looks like you're missing a whole undertray. See in your first pic, there's a bracket to the right of the handbrake cable - that's one of the attachments for the undertray - it's the one that scoops air from under the car and into the engine bay.

these are a doddle to change and are poorly designed i crapped myself when i first see mine broken i thought it was structual, thay are just supports silly things is thay have holes in them think its to let water out but thing is if thay didnt have holes in them water would not get in thay rust from inside i want to make solids ones of these :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

My front left bar looks in similar condition as the photo above of the replaced unit. As for my right side, I've got a few similar looking support bars, and I'm not sure what 1 it is, it may have even gone off with other parts by mistake

I tried changing mine today. One problem though, i tried to remove the bar that bolts to the chassis by the coolant lines (Driver side) but i noticed the bolt just kept spinning. Is there any way of accessing this bolt? I can see it disappering into the chassis forever if i manage to get it off.
