you might like em but they take more time than normal games normally.

its kinda like how you get upgrades in dead space but alot more detailed.

youll have things like strength, agility, stealth, accuracy etc.

its an open world game like gta too but much bigger and obviously not a city. well not much of one in this case.

scroll down a bit for the gameplay vids.

So it's a game you can finish then.

Didnt want to get it and find I play it for god knows how long and then finding out there is no real point to it.

I thought some of these role play games were kind of open ended so you can play it differently every time.

Has anyone found that VATS is a crap shot? Even with a high hit percentage it still misses.

I also noticed that if you are standing near a wall etc to protect youself from fire, you have a clean sight and then shoot through VATS you just end up unloading into the nearby object and missing every time.

I tend to just go free fire now. Seems silly that I cant get any real chance of a long range hit through VATS yet if I manually aim at the head I can drop raiders / Mutants at a distance with a headshot.

Best weapon so far is the hunting rifle if you get a critical sneak headshot it takes most things down, however if you get charged your in trouble.

So far I've been playing this game since midnight and accomplished a whole lot of nothing.

Kinda pi$$ed If I'm honest. Was hoping it'd not get so boring so quick. While I like rpg's and all the talking aspects etc etc. It's too slow moving.

Looks like it may have to go back sooner then expected!

What point are you upto Ens?

TBH the game dosnt push you in any real direction. Unlike Oblivion where you had a good idea what the main quest was and what was a side mission this just leaves you to wander around and look for your father yourself (at least thats how its happening for me).

However you do get absorbed into the game, and I have started to work the story out all ready based on transcripts you find lying around ... but I wont spoil it for you.

Heading for the GNR building at the moment. Through all the train stations etc seems to be the best way. Annoying how little ammo is around. also the "rubble" in the wastelands seems to just hide everthing so it's hard to spot things.

Got a few side missions given to me, but not tried any of them yet. May do the one for the lady that runs the supply store but I'm told it's not simple. There is like 9 parts to it lol.

Also wondering what I should do with that big bomb in the middle of town lol.

Getting kinda annoyed as there is so much back and forth back and forth.

As you start out the 2 best weapons are Hunting Rifle and the Combat Shotgun, you should start to find a good amount of baddies carrying those weapons and also the ammo. You will also find a lot of 10mm hand guns – these are pretty poor TBH but they are in ready supply.

Every person you drop search them, you will get a lot of ammo and weapons in no time. Also to save going into a gun fight and getting you head blown off at a distance, find some cover, draw them over then when they get close unleash a clip into their face at point blank range :D You should also get the scoped 44 which is cool for removing heads. Keep repairing your weapons as well, the better condition they are in the more accurate and the higher the hit count.

The more you search the more you will find. If your roaming around DC, go to the History Museum, its near the technology museum you go to after you have gone to GNR – cant remember what its called, its in the same building as the Ghoul underworld. In the museum itself there is a rifle called Lincolns Repeater basically a rifle that fires 44’s and very powerful and accurate. The museum its in has quite a few Feral Ghouls in but they are easy enough to take down with a few headshots.

Yeah did that one, pretty annoying TBH, don’t get much for it either. She annoyed me so much I might go back and blow her head off in her sleep.

Also wondering what I should do with that big bomb in the middle of town lol.

I didn’t set it off, but later got attacked by a squad of hunters who were hired by Tenpenny to kill me for not doing it. I paid him a visit and removed his head with the Repeater, robbed him then threw his corpse over the balcony. :D

Getting kinda annoyed as there is so much back and forth back and forth.

1 or two of the missions are like that. Fought my way through a load of robots to do a quest, got there to be told to go to another location … or I could just blow him up and steal what I needed. I blew him up – sod going through all that again!

Think I have the hunting rifle. Not come across the shotgun yet though! Where'd you pick that up?

Also with Mortal Kombat and Resistance 2 coming out soon I'm tempted to take this back and trade it. I will give it until the end of the month as I don't have much time to play it at the moment. Will give it a chance I guess.
