got the new dash today (360)

got the new dash today as part of the preview thing microsoft did,
i like it quite alot, some really nice stuff in there, installing a game to the hdd as i type this.
only bad points so far: cause its a prieview there is no live access till the 19th (when its launched) and u cant create avatars yet because it needs a seperate update thats not out yet. looks good so far tho

Sounds good to me! It does look a lot better...but you can always go back to the old version if you want to!

I really hope saving the game to the hard drive is optional? I absolutely xxxxxx hate with every fibre of my being waiting for the poxy games to install and update on the ps3. Took me over an hour to get playing gt5 the other day!

the installing is optional u just press Y on the game and choose to install it or not
i have the file taken from my hdd so if anyone else wants to try it out give me a shout and ill send u the file, ive already done it on my bros and best mates works fine u just put the update on a usb stick or mem card, put it in the xbox and turn it on ur promted with an update just press yes the after its updated (10 seconds) it will reset and ur new dash is waitin for ya.

I still can't figure out the benefit of saving games to the hard drive? Apparently it speed's up loading times but on the few ps3 games i have there's no difference what so ever. It still comes up "loading" all the times and it's certainly not quick!

it just speeds up the times a fraction, i installed guitar hero world tour and all the loading parts that took 20 seconds now only take 3 or 4 seconds, but the games take up 6.6 gig...
