Am I the only person who thought Bioshock was boring and repetative with a poor game system and a completely untennable gameworld?

Oh yeah I'm having a ball wandering back and forth through the same corridors with the same old enemies who only seem to have one character model and keep respawning, riffling through every crate, purse and freaking cigar box just in case there is a nickel in it that I can spend in that irritating clown music playing vending machine. I AM NOT SURPRISED YOUR CHARICATURED UNDERWATER SOCIETY BROKE DOWN WHEN YOU HAVE VENDING MACHINES EVERYWHERE SELLING LIVE AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES TO ANYONE WHO WANTS THEM YOU MORONS!!! OH ITS ANOTHER BIG DADDY WHO TAKES 10 GRENADES TO THE FACE WITHOUT FLINCHING AND HITS ME WITH UNNERVING ACCURACY FROM FIFTY FEET AWAY WITH HIS RAIL GUN THAT KILLS ME AGAIN AND AGAIN. OH ITS OKAY - RELOAD GAME. OH I'M DEAD. AGAIN. RELOAD...

Repeat til fade...

*Prepares for backlash

It's got a great twist that I didn't see coming, but other than that I too found it a bit FPS-by-numbers. Are the graphics pretty? Yes. Is the sound suitable? Yes. Did it blow my socks off, or did I just play through it to the end just for something to do? The latter.

It's enjoyable, but not world-shattering IMHO.

It's an absolutely stunning game, very immersive, and difficulty curve is bang on. Avoids that infuriating thing where games like GTA:SA and IV involved an incremental increase in difficulty for a given level that you then had to do ALL the trekking about again just to retry a bit.

For any one suggesting Bioshock is repetitive - how did you enjoy call of duty 4?

Bioshock is quite scary for a game. I find myself being very cautious and running for walls so i dont get attacked from behind. Surround sound and a 50" screen adds to the scare factor :thumleft:
