You mean a mobo with onboard gfx? HD3200 chipset?
My PC would probably kick my PS3 & 360's ass, I have quad core Q6700, a pair of 8800GTS cards in sli, 8gb of memory and a 4 disk striped RAID. (errr... screw Xbox!)

Quite honestly couldnt give a xxxx. Yeah the picture quality looks good, but then its not like looking at normal DVD's / TV is comparable to peering through some heavily frosted grass with bad cataracts is it?

Dont understand people who get super excited about stuff like Blu Ray or super dooper surround sound systems. What ever.

Its just like people getting excited about games or cars. If you have a big interest in films and music then a good system is great to have. Ive spent around 5k on my system and cant think of anything else better to spend the money on.

Never had a problem with the speed of my ps3 updating or installing anything. It's connected wirelessly to my 6mb (at best) connection about 2 feet away from my router. Whenever I've installed something I usually wander off and forget within a couple of minutes anyway so it's all done by the time I get back. Matt, there was nothing you could entertain yourself with for a few minutes while installing and updating?

Seriously, do people really sit in front of their ps3's waiting for the boring stuff to finish just for a few minutes of playtime? There's not even any adverts to read/watch while it's happening.

I don't really get all the 360 vs PS3 stuff tbh, always thought blue-ray would be the better format due to it's size so never bought a 360 when they came out partly because of that, but also because I thought it might be better waiting an extra year or so to see what happens with the 360. Everyone I know who has bought a 360 has had to send it back for one reason or another, it just seems a bit of a no brainer to me which one to get if I was buying now due to the reliabliity issues with the 360 that I seem to hear about every so often. What does it have exactly that makes 360 owners so anti-sony and so pro-bill gates? I've lost count of the threads on here that have been invaded by 360 worshippers blurting on about how apparently inferior the PS3 is.

You've no choice if you're doing a system or GT5p update, 99% of the time you get an error if you stop looking at it

I honestly cannot see the argument here. Because you had to update your ps3 you hate it? Because it took ages you hate it??

1, If a game has to get updated it's for a reason, In your case it's prob because gttv went live and it downloaded all the relevent data.

2, It's hardly the ps3's fault you have a flakey wireless connection is it?

Also the argument about games is hardly an issue now is it? 99% of released games are multi format now with the odd exception.

Also the amount of people moaning about ps3's on just this forum is a lot lower than the amount of people who are moaning about 360 issues.

A ps3 is an all round entertainment centre and is more useful that a 360. Infact it's closer to a pc in that respect.

I like my ps3, I use it for fifa and other online games. It's free online gaming is a major plus for me and the thought of paying for that privilage is a joke.

The graphics on both are ok but tbh they are crap when you compare them to a mid range pc and before you all start moaning about the price of a pc please remember that the games are half the price.

when ever i talk to people about the whole 360 vs ps3 thing they always say the PS3 is the better console because it has the cell.

And when you say the following ...

Dont know what the big deal is with the PS3 processor played on a mates a while back - GTA4 is just as comparable as the 360 version and the HD dosnt make a jot of difference. It still slowed down when everything got out of hand. My god did it take a long time to load too.

They then say ...

BIG DEAL! Truth is the only people who care about Blu Ray still live at home with their parents.

lol. more like sony screwed you all and gave you like 1/5 of a game so you have to download a load of patches.

dont know if thats 100% true or not but i dont think gt5 is a good stand point for the ps3 from wherever you look at it.

id hardly call gears of war, halo, mass effect, forza, crackdown and so on "the odd exception". pretty big titles.

cant argue with that. reliability does suck on earlier models. they seem to have it sorted now though. i know mine hasnt died in ages.

i could buy a bluray player and a 360 for the same price of a PS3 so its not a huge advantage anymore.

specially as theres rumours of an external bluray drive coming at some point.

i think its funny how you have only jus gotten the in-game xmb. sony cant even copy quickly. they had all that extra time and still launched with a crappy online service. its only now they are trying to catch up and that will all change in november when we get the new dashboard.[/quote]

i get my games for £30-£35 so far from half the price and i dont have to upgrade my console every 6 months to play the games smoothly and how they should be played.

A HUGE game like Fallout3, made from scratch for both consoles. Looks better on the 'inferior' 360.
