FAO PS3'ers - Are You Getting/Got Bioshock?

Post by matt_mr2t »

I see it's out now, who's got it or planning on getting it?

I've already got and played it on the 360 as have many members on here.

Once you lot have a crack - report back here and let us know.

It's definately one of, if not my absolute favourite games.

I played it through on the 360, I don't see any point in getting it on PS3 as well. I'm downloading the free demo to see what it looks like though.

Got it early last week thanks to play.com :D

Not the greatest port with various graphic glitches being reported (knew that from the demo) but they are supposed to be readying a patch. More worryingly the other night (after about 4 hours play) it became very laggy and dropped to about 5 frames per second on mine, Don't know if the PS3 was trying to melt (never heard the fans speed up like that before) or if it's a problem with that game relating to clearing cache but i turned it off for the night and it hasn't done it since.

The graphic issues aren't enough to spoil it for me, This game blew we away when i saw it 15 years ago for the 360  and glad it's finally arrived. Very creepy and atmospheric and it's made me jump a couple of times so far (awesome!!!) only Resi 1 when the dogs jump through the window at the start and Alien Ressurection on PS1 have managed that before 8)

Too busy playing through Dead space at the moment. Did consider this.

Man does dead space make you jump or what when your playing it at 3am in the dark with the sound up!

May get it eventually, but to be honest, just too many big titles coming out now. PES9 got murdered the first week (and still being put through its paces when a break from dead space is needed lol)., now dead space has taken over, gotta try and finish it before fallout 3 comes out....COD5..... Then I gotta still go back and complete Devil May Cry 4 (got well bored of whats basically a pimped hack and slash) and Spiderman 3.

Just realized, Bioshock is the 1st game in 10 months that's stopped me loading up and chasing ranks in Warhawk  (it must be good) :D

Damn right, I pull out my Silent hill box set ever ynow and then for some creepy gamin :) Gave it to my bro recently as he's a big fan of this stuff. He's loving it.

May give Bioshock a go round my cousins on his 360. See what I think. He's kinda getting me into gears. Been playing co-op and loving it. With Gears2 coming I may have to purchase a 360 now they are so cheap lol. Maybe I'll get one as a pressie for xmas lol. If I like bioshock I may give it a go. My cousin says it's really good. However with fallout3 coming out It'll have to wait. Can then get it cheaper by then

If you get a 360 you can get bioshock p1$$ cheap on ebay and you won't suffer the graphic glitch that has been reported. It's fantastic. Rapture is quite franky one of the most amazing scenes for any game. I've heard rumours of a movie too. I'll honestly be wetting myself waiting for that if it comes.

Never got to play this on the 360, but got the PS3 demo and really enjoyed it. Think a full purchase is in order, very atmospheric - made me jump a few times

Ages since i've played anything other than PES or Warhawk though so was a nice change.

I dont mind a bit of football or COD but I get bored with them as they're just storyless repetetive and bland really.

Much prefer something like Bioshock with a thick story line. It kept me hooked for weeks. Your actions also affect the outcome of the story too.

Had a quick go of the demo (well about half an hour). Actually really quite impressive game I thought. Very atmospheric too. :+:
