Late 1997 REV4 Tbar Turbo, Yellow, 51k, £4,995

For sale is my late 1997 REV4 T-bar Turbo with just 51,000 miles on the clock.

Some of you will know me through IMOC as I have been smitten with MR2's for a few years now - this is the fourth MR2 I have owned.

When I first saw the car appear on Piston Heads at the start of this year I drove 100 miles to see it and placed a deposit within just a few hours of the ad going live! I had all but given up on finding a late-REV Turbo in yellow with low miles and the fact that this one was a T-bar made it an even rarer find.

When i bought the car it was wearing a very full-on bodykit which I have since had removed as I like my MR2's in standard coachwork.

Other modificatons on the car are a rare and sought after Departure twin exhaust, a replacement filter and aftermarket wheels. Other than that she is stock standard - a rarity with as you will no doubt know, as most MR2 turbos have been heavily modified.

Since buying the car I have had the following work done:-

- Oil change
- Brake system bled and refilled
- Laser wheel alignment
- Professional fitment of CAT1 alarm and immobiliser
-Fitment of CD player

The odometer still reads in kilometers currently sitting at just over 81,000 hence approximately 51,000 miles.

I have lots of receipts for the car supplied by the previous owner and some of my own which show that the car has had new tyres and brake pads only a few thousand miles ago. I also have an HPI check done by the previous owner which is clear.

The car is MOT'd until April 09.

The tyres have loads of tread on them and the interior is in great condition for its age - apart from some slight discolouration of the seats due to its age it is very tidy indeed and shines beautifully after a full valet.

Wheels are pretty tidy though could do with a professional clean as they seem to be marked with brake dust in a few nooks which I can't seem to shift by cleaning at home or witha quick valet.

Mechanically the car hasn't skipped a beat and is great to drive with not a trace of smoke and flawless power delivery in each gear with no dead spots. The exhaust makes a great sound without being 'Max Power' loud which is perfect for me.

I have always bought my MR2's at the higher end of the market with very low miles and each and every one has been totally reliable and a pleasure to own.

I am selling this car as a sudden development in my career means I will be out on the road seeing high net worth clients so need something a little more sensible than my MR2 (I am shortly due to qualify as a financial adviser).

If you are interested and would like to know more then please give me a call and I will answer any questions you may have. Even if you don't buy my car I may be able to give you some advice that will help you in your search for a good one if you are new to these cars.

Any viewings are by appointment only. I will be happy to allow genuine buyers a proper test drive mixing motorway and normal roads as I am certain you will be very impressed. If you wish to drive however then I am sure I don't need to remind you to bring your insurance documents (would you let a stranger drive your car without insurance?!).

I will also get some better pictures (i.e. not taken at dusk!) ASAP!

Looking for £4,995 ono.

Kind Regards

James

Hi David,

Good to hear from you - thanks for your kind comments.

Glad you found a nice turbo in the end mate, hope you've been enjoying it. :thumleft: Yours looks very nice and standard too just as you wanted.

I am qualifying shortly as a financial adviser and need something a bit newer and more corporate.

With my mortgage rate jumping up next year too i just can't afford to run two cars and a higher monthly mortgage payment so sadly the car has to go.

Will crank up the marketing of the car next week as I am yet to put her on Autotrader and as a preimum ad on PH. Will see how I get on!
