Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fitting turbo and downpipe
If its all still standard and never been touched before then good luck its a nightmare.

Expect it to take aleast all day.

If its all been off before no probs.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fitting turbo and downpipe
aw

we all know the search can be a bit hit or miss

and some people enjoy typing the same old advice out to sound clever.
.
.

my focus would be on tools:
- a good penetrating spray
(e.g.
plusgas) and soak before hand

- a couple of decent 6 sided sockets
(17mm
+ 14mm) half inch drive e.g.
halfords professional or perhaps from tooledup.com

- some 1/4 inch tools
(extension bars and 10mm
+ 12mm) to get the cat heatshields off where access is too tight for 1/2 inch drive

access to the cat will be hard, so you'll have to remove the exhaust flexi, front engine mount and cat stays.

if you leave the cat
/turbo
/ manifold bolted together, then access to the exhaust manifold will be hard
- especially removing the turbo oil and water feed

the silver lining
- refitting a decat pipe is almost a pleasure after that damn cat!
