Rev3 turbo rear clip dilemma?

Post by alan.i »

Does anyone know the going rate for a Rev3 Turbo clip?
I have a Rev2 engine at present that needs replacing and wish to know if it would be cost effective to upgrade to the newer and more powerful engine?.
Another option is to buy a Rev 2 engine and have it rebuilt using forged componants, with the view of increased power when funds allow.

I'm sure that there are members here who have been faced with the same dilemma?

What did you do, and what was your reasoning,

cos of the high mileage on my car now, ive bought a basic rev4 rear clip from gtschris cost £1360 delivered. its going to be fitted end of month when its all painted up and the new water and oil pump have come through.

decided to do it before my current engine went bang and problems start happening, these already have knock sensor went, coolant and oil leak. so rather than spend money repairing a broken engine i decided to get another one, so instead of getting another rev2, for the work involved and the matter of about £500 tops (for the rev4) i can have a more powerful engine and 1/4 of the mileage.

hope that helps.
