[Mk3] [Turbo] Radiator fans staying on

Post by NORRISMR2 »

I know theres a few posts on here bout this but read most and doesnt seem to help me...

My car was overheating and my mate a spark thought it would be wise to wire up a switch for fans, ended up this didnt help as hg was away anyhow the car is fixed but fans are running constant, the wires to temp sender were cut and nw r bridged again using male and female adaptors. I also removed the aircon on car as never use it and thus it was only blocking front of radiator.

My question is if there was a break in wiring fixed with adaptors would this cause the two fans to kick in all time.

Or if aircon removed ( front aircon radiator removed) would this cause fans to run constant?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated...

Almost certainly a blown fuse, check in drivers footwell.

Also have a fiddle with relays in engine compartment see if the fans go off.

Aircon removal shouldnt cause rads to stay on, might dont anyway.

Check the pressure sensor for the aircon is plugged in. This is near the regassing point in the frunk. If diconnected the rad fans will come on full tilt.
