[Mk2] [NA] Best method for removing oil from coolant system

Hi there
Can anybody tell me of a tryed and tested method for cleaning the oil from the coolant system. Im thinking along the lines of adding white sprits or gunk or something

i know you can replace the coolant in you system with a different liquid that flushes the whole system out of all the crap inside it. however im not sure what it is you use, but its left in there for about a week and then drained out and you refill with coolant again.

But im afraid i dont know the details

hi mate, DONT use white spirits.

If you have had oil in your water sytem there is only one sure method of flushing.

Thats allot of time and elbo grease mate.

What i would do is flush the whole system with a hose pipe. fill up the system with just water. run the car so its hot and the thermostat is running. then drain - flus with a hosepiupe again, repeat the process untill all the oil (gunk) has gone.

on the last fill up use coolant.
