In all honesty I really would like to see one of our guys get down to that kinda time. At the very least it shows over the past year or more just how the ability level has risen ten-fold.
A time within a few tenths of Eugene O'Brians would be an outstanding achievement.
Just got back from testing at snetterton, after a VERY wet start with some very fast 360,s into the snetterton scienary we got some dry laps in this afternoon.Suffering some serious brake problems my best time was a 1 26.1 and steve lumley beat eugine,s time with a stunning lap of 1 25.5
well once the rain finally stopped on tuesday i managed to get on track, car was going quite well considering it was the first time i'd had it on track and with the new suspension, the biggest problem i was having was going into the chicane before the pit straight, braking while changing from 3rd to 2nd gear the rear end was constantly locking up and throwing me off line which ended up with me entering the straight sideways all the time, anyone else had problems with this, and is there a cure? for info i'm running stock brakes, gab super dampners, rsr springs and 205/50/15 t1-rs on rev 3 rear wheels
Yes - learn to heel and toe! Have a look at this video and you'll see that on both occasions where I'm late in bringing the clutch back up the car spins out: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0XSu1WVRfpY

In theory it would improve airflow from the engine bay, but in reality you can skin the n/a lid right down and make it lighter which is what I've done on my current car. I haven't had any issues with overheating and I push my race car a lot harder than I imagine you'll push your road car!

must say thanks for the info tried driving with and without heeling and toeing at woodbridge this weekend and the difference it made was huge, with it i was going quite well, without it i was going sideways, then backwards, then into the fields
Javelin are doing an Open pit day on Sunday 9th November for £129.
I'm just trying to arrange cover for my shift on the Saturday so I can get up early.
Anyone else interested?
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

If you're going with Javelin, can you do your selves a favour and ask them to mention overtaking by consent by signal from the person who is being overtaken.
This is something they never covered on the recent airfield day and there were a couple of times where the car that had pulled to the right just decided to pull back online regardless of whether something was on their left or not.
If anyone has done trackdays by other reputable companies will be all to familar with over taking rules usually enforced, but for some reason javelin didn't enforce these rules at woodbridge

Indeed - it wasn't very well done. I'm not sure everyone was taking too much note of what WAS said even - I usually took a particularly wide line to the left for that first corner so I could get the power on earlier (big mistake that turned out to be...) and some drivers took that as a sign they could overtake on the RIGHT!!! I had a couple of interesting moments! Thankfully I'd been checking my mirror so knew they were behind me but they were very close as I swung into the apex

That's vixs birthday and we were planning to do that day as her present until she did her ankle. Not sure if she'll be able to drive again by then but if she's recovered in time we'll be there.
I have seen there is a modified car show on at Snetterton on the 12th October - with quarter mile etc. If anyone is interested I could arrange an IMOC presence? http://www.modifiedlive.co.uk/

Looking at the attendees list, there is a large number marked as expert so I have bottled it and I'm gonna book woodbridge on the following Saturday instead
Maybe once I have done a couple more less intimidating days I'll book Snetterton
