Here is the reluctant sale of my red MK1 T-Bar.

She is completely free from rust

(Had her on a hydraulic lift about 3 weeks ago and had a good look for any signs, but didn't spot a thing!).

I have had her for approx a year and have just bought a Mk2 and cannot afford to run both.

I have always found her reliable and very reasonable on petrol.

We have just taken her on the annual IMOC Scenes of Skye run.

If you want to see her in action, please look at

'past events' on the site.

She didn't miss a beat! She has always had work carried out as soon as anything has arisen.

Having said this I've never had a serious problem.

Always starts first time and runs perfectly.

The car is a G-reg

(1989) Mk1 T-bar in Red, with a full-leather interior.

It's only done 98k miles.

Only 3 previous owners.

Good points:

-Just had a full new set of tyres

(Toyo R888

-

£60 per tyre)

(Aug 08

)

-Elite have redone the tracking on 27/9/08

-A wonderful sounding Mongoose exhaust

-Paint in good condition

-No rust around the arches

-Brand new

'superflex polyurethane suspension bush kits' all around

(Aug 08

)

-MOT until Oct 2009

(Passed with flying colours!)

-Taxed until 31/04/09

-Has been very reliable

-Brakes still have plenty of life in them

- front brake calipers were just re-greased

(as a matter of keeping them on top form) a couple of weeks ago

-The oil was changed a couple of weeks ago, and was kept on top form while I owned the car, being checked regularly.

-Brake fluid, coolant fluid etc all ok.

-I fit a new JVC radio/CD player last year when I first acquired the car.

This also has an AUX-in port for an iPod or other MP3 player.

I'm happy to include this within the sale as well as the original radio/cassette player which still works

(in case you would like to keep the car original)

-Interior is in good condition for a car of its age, with the leather seats free from rips or tears.

-The car has the original sun shades and also the T-bar cover bags.

These are becoming a rarity!

-Car has had an Excel Stirling immobiliser fitted.

Bad points:

- Tiny T-Bar leak on drivers side.

Never bothered me as rarely noticed!

- The ashtray lid has broken off.

These can be found easily on ebay.

The pictures really do not do this car any justice.

I spent 6 months looking for a loved rust free Mk1 and saw many examples in this time before I came across this one.

Whoever becomes the proud owner of this diamond will make me incredibly jealous! I'm a member of IMOC and MR2MK1 clubs and the car is known by the members.

I'd love for this car to go to somebody within the club.

£1900 ONO.

I am located in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

The car can be seen in the evenings and also at weekends.

Please feel free to PM me for contact details.

Many thanks! Sasha
