I'm amazed the number of people I see round my way with the old-style silver on black numberplates on new (always black) vehicles. Even more strange that quite a few pair these with a legal black on yellow plate at the rear. :-k

I would've thought the old bill would be down on them like a ton of bricks but it seems not.

HaHaHaHa, worth it IMO

Once a year, you get pulled and charged \:D/

Best way to avoid fines, is to just have legal plates. I personally have never seen the attraction of non legal fonts etc.

He could have just given you a rectification notice, thought the fine was a bit harsh :?

Considering opting to go to court then turn up with a matchbox model with the number painted on the front (mis-spaced of course) and plead not guilty to driving a toy MR2 ! LOL ;-')

or right a big crappy letter to the police chief saying how he was mocking you and your car that you drive, and to add insult the intimidating and offensive police officer wrote down your car as a toy instead of toyota

heheh

unless your car is an imported car, its illegal to have square plates to....

square plates are only legal on cars that came with a square holder...
uk cars didnt, so legal plate or not, having it sqaure will make it illegal....

Some UK cars have square plates, but they're few and far between.

Just been having a play with a "plate builder" on ebay - illegal at the top and legal at the bottom - TBH I think the way I had it was clearer :-(

So no more A-plates (http://www.aplates.com/)!

Damn shame, their plates last so much longer than the crap that's knocked up at the local autofactors. :(

I'm really finding it hard to think why you would want a plate to first of all be in a dodgy italic font that looks totally tacky, and second have some random swearing underneath that makes it even more tacky

what is wrong with a standard plate, with standard fonts? nice, clean and tastefull :-#

maybe im not "cool" enough to understand....

They came on the car when I got it just one of those things I haven't thought about changing

Besides most find it amusing so I'd just say you're too grumpy to understand

it's jus petty as far as i can see coz with mine i got pulled over for exactly the same...it's H3SY P which to me is more understandable and recognisable than a ordinary plate! normal writing and everything too!
jus seems petty! used to wana be a policeman until i realised how they jus have no morals anymore!

"To Protect Yourself & Serve Your Pockets!!!"

Some are ok though

Copper told me it was the other way around!! apparently my numberplate is illegal because it has NO GB or EU mark on it!! I sware they make the rules up... Remember the 'experienced Traffic copper' that tried doing me saying my Tien Flex suspension was for race use only!!'

i herd an anonymous copper on the radio the other day admit that its easier to meet there targets by chasing these smaller, simpler petty crimes, than catching real criminals. its all about the Targets!!
