[Mk2] [Turbo] T-Bar LEAKS!!!!

Guys i have serious leak issues with both the off and near side of T-Bar roof!! The leaks are mainly where the T-Bar roof panels join the front pillar which runs down the side of the windscreen.

I have had a chat with Toyota for new rubber seals but their a bit dare do I have another option available to me

Adding to that I have another issue where the drivers door window tends to push out when going up. Obviously this creates a gap between it and the T-Bar adding to my leak problems and wind noise! How can I resolve this issue?

In the knowledgebase theres a article called sealing the Tbar using the sealant and clingfilm method, that sorted mine out.

Basicly you remove the roof tops and squirt some black silicone sealant (the stuff they use to stick windscreens in) around the rubber bits where it seals with the car, squirt a gennerous amount as you can always cut any extra off, then cover the bits that you put the silicone on with cling film, then put the roof panels back on the car. The clingfilm stops the roof sticking to the car but allows it to fill in the bits where its leaking. leave it like that for a day, then take the tops off and remove the cling film. Sorted!

Much cheaper than new seals!

Its worth getting one of them gun things that you put the tube of sealant in so you can control how much you squirt better, they are like £3 at Homebase.

I have a Spare N/S one for grabs if you want?
Just Silicone it up for the Winter thats what i used to do and as for your window you might have to take off the door panel off and inspect the window regulator as it may need adjusting

Worked a treat on mine which was leaking very badly when i first got her.

I have some Wurth Rubber care spray which treats the rubber (obviously!).

Might not work for you if its leaking loads, but for other 'slightly leaking' t-bar owners out there it really does work. It softens the rubber creating a better seal.

Mine leaked a little but with frequent applies with the spray to keep the rubber soft it stops it leaking.

Hi all, My T bar has similar probs and I have a brand new seal on it!! It looks like the problem is that the window is not sitting properly in the door, and looking along the weather strip, the glass runs in towards the seal at the front and out at the B pillar, hence loads of road noise at B pillar and heavy scratched glass, new regulator and window, which will allow the glass to meet the T-bar seal at the top allowing a better seal all round.... HOPEFULLY! lol
