Awesome? Wasn't that a 2d scrolling shooter? Are you thinking of Epic?

Alert! Alert!

I was a (very difficult) strategy/shooter from the makers of Shadow of the Beast. It was part overhead shooter, part run around, part space harrier style levels, part strategy trading with buying/selling cargo between planets to buy fuel and weapons to get to your next destination. (I think if they took that concept and blended it with the original Wing Commander making it mission based and selecting crews and wingmen etc and brought it up to date given the power of current systems and gave it a Star Wars theme it could be brilliant) Or poo if it was more running around like SWTFU

Epic was 8)

It's sequel (Inferno) never came out for the miggy but i have it installed for DOSbox.

It's not one I'm overly familiar with it, but Lyndon worked at Psygnosis at around that time so I'll ask him about it. :thumleft:

I played Epic and Wing Commander through to the end on the Amiga, never knew there was a sequal to Epic though.

Dont know what all the hype is about? Played the demo the other night and was bored rigid about 2 mins in. The graphics arent great (actually quite poor IMHO), the game play is repetative and nothing new or interesting, the aim function is dire, damaged items / bots etc vanish into thin air. Basically just mash a load of buttons until the end - the only thought comes where you have the defeat the boss where its a case of tapping a button at the right time. Very lame attempt to make some more money from the star wars franchise - take a crap game, give it the Star wars name and laugh as the money rolls in.

I HAVE to disagree... played it last night for 4 hrs and I cldnt put the controller down.

The first thing i thought of when i woke up this am was a force push  so adictive.

The power upgrades are great, the end of level bosses are gd, the puzzles arent a pain in the @ss and I think it looks polished. Looks great at 1080p thats for sure.

The demo doesnt give u enough to properly get into it. the levels get better and better and u progress. So glad they used the GTA engine.

Buy it!

i managed to get this a week before release, i was really excited to play it untill i actually played it. its really dissapointing. all u do is push and throw enemies around, u cant run and block and starting the game as vader was really annoying.
oh and where are the double ended sabers?! lol

He meant you can't run and block at the same time, which is the biggest criticism I had of the demo as well.

I've got my copy sitting downstairs, I might play it a bit later.

Man I love this game!! I have just pulled the Death Star out of the sky and left it there for last night.

This is the most addicted I have been since GTA 4. Thank god there are no pointless 10 minute drives/walking abt in this game like in GTA :)

got it yesterday and i love it.

the demo doesnt show you half the stuff you can do.

just the first jedi you fight was sweet. pulling tie fighters down on your head is one of the coolest bosses ive fought.

Completed this pretty quickly. Select the harder difficulty setting if you want it to last a bit longer. The game isn't that long any way. Got it on release day and finished it after about 8 hours total. Maybe less.

Big Star Wars fan so enjoyed the expansion of the story and how it shows the start up of the Rebel Alliance.

Lots of glitches though! Kept getting stuck halfway through platforms or whatever when exploring the levels. WTF. One time I was caught in mid air as I tried to drop trough a hole in a platform. Could still use my light saber and jump and stuff. Had to restart after that one!

It's good, but should have been better in my eyes and def longer.
