They've finally got me!

I've had my 360 since its release without it missing a beat until yesterday when the 3 red rings finally executed my console!

I'm stoney broke (holiday looming) so I won't be online for quite some time, atleast 'til November!

So don't delete me as I will return to murder many people!!

You dont need a penny m8. Jus ring microsoft and theyl pick it up and fix it for free.

Not sure what the turn around is at the mo but you shouldnt b without it for much longer than a month max.

its 3 years warranty now but they get so many of these errors they dont really even ask.

jus ring them and say its got the RROD error and theyll get a courier to come pick it up usually the next day.

happened to me a couple of times.

the first time it came back it still wasnt fixed tho.

i ended up writing on the box. things like "please fix me this time, i dont like being in a box" and "my owner misses me".

seemed to work cos i had a new one with a free months xbox live within a week.

the number will be on xbox.com but im hol at the mo and using a phone so cant get to it very easily.

Heh, glad I'm not the only one that did that! I've got both a Premium box and an Elite box sitting in my garage right now, and the Premium one isn't actually an empty box just being kept in case of moving house or whatever...

one of my mates bought an elite and i think thai did too.

with the recent price drop im thinking i might upgrade at xmas. specially with all the new dashboard and content coming out.

gonna buy a HD projector too so ill be using the video store a bit more.

Dont see the point spending £300 upgrading to an Elite. If you have the newer model Xbox's cant you just buy the HD which is the only difference apart from the colour.

The bigger HD was always available, but the main reason I got it was because of the colour. Everyone knows that a black console is cooler than a beige one.

I've noticed something a couple of times, some PS3's have a silver trim around the disc slot (mine) and some are all black (in pictures I've seen)

What's the difference?

I'm sure they have! if so I'd be tempted to just get one because of that.

Yes indeedy.

Cant say I've noticed a difference except that the lead is not so bulky as the component one.

I would imagine that one would be the older PS2-compatible one with card reader slots, and the other one would be the new one. Got no idea which is which mind, and I'm far too lazy to go downstairs and look at mine to see.

elite will be just over 200 pounds when the new prices are in effect and with a b-day and xmas coming up and not much else that i want. jus figured i may aswell look into it.
